WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

ICON.SH is looking for a true digital imaging specialist—a technical mastermind who lives and breathes equipment, innovation, and experimentation. The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on expert in imaging technology who will lead our Digital Imaging team to empower the studio’s production needs. This person is not only an authority on digital imagery tools —from cameras to lighting to digital screens—but also a respected strategist and problem-solver that production teams and crews trust implicitly.

We need someone who is resourceful, innovative, and endlessly curious—someone who is constantly testing, learning, and pushing boundaries. This leader will ensure our equipment and technical setups are tailored to meet even the most complex production briefs. At the same time, they will maintain a relentless focus on the quality and longevity of our equipment, ensuring it remains cutting-edge and in top condition.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As Manager of Studio Digital Imaging, you will:

  • Lead a team responsible for curating, managing, and maintaining all studio digital imagery equipment, including cameras, lighting, truss systems, and other technical setups.

  • Act as the chief strategist for navigating and executing the specific technical requirements of each shoot, ensuring equipment and setups meet creative and production briefs.

  • Develop and implement innovative production methods, advocating for new technologies, workflows, and tools that enhance studio capabilities.

  • Oversee the tracking, inventory, and maintenance of all studio equipment, ensuring it operates at peak performance and is well-maintained for longevity.

  • Serve as a trusted resource and mentor for production teams and crews, building their knowledge and confidence in equipment usage.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, post-production, and creative, to troubleshoot and develop solutions for unique technical challenges.

  • Continuously explore and experiment with new equipment, techniques, and methodologies to keep ICON.SH on the cutting edge of production innovation.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

Reporting to the Head of Studio Production, you will collaborate closely with production teams, creative leads, and post-production specialists. You will also lead and mentor your own team of technical experts, ensuring their growth and development while fostering a culture of experimentation and learning.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A minimum of 8+ years of experience in digital imaging, studio equipment management, or related fields. A background in commercial photography is a plus.

  • Deep technical expertise in cameras, lighting systems, truss setups, and other studio equipment, with a proven ability to match technical solutions to creative production needs.

  • Experience in mentoring and managing teams of technical specialists.

  • Strong strategic mindset and ability to think on your feet to solve complex production challenges.

  • Passion for innovation and hands-on experimentation, with a track record of implementing new technologies or workflows in studio environments, e.g. GenAI, virtual production.

  • High attention to detail in equipment maintenance, tracking, and quality control.

  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to build trust with production teams, creative leads, and external crews.

  • Knowledge of the latest trends and advancements in imaging technology and production equipment.

  • Proven experience in fast-paced, high-volume production environments.

  • Strong understanding of creative processes and the ability to balance technical and aesthetic considerations.
