WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The Manager, Quality Engineering at Air MI will partner closely with Product Development Design and Tooling, Process Engineering, Automation Engineering, and Air Production to deliver safe, scalable, standardized, data‑driven processes that enable Air MI to meet demand, reduce scrap and waste, and operate as a standardized global network.
The Manager, Quality Engineering will lead a team of Quality Engineers and technical lab personnel who will be responsible for delivering a prevention-based culture of quality – risk-based prevention, stable control plans, timely and effective CAPAs, audit protocols, and data-driven visibility into process and product health.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Manager, Quality Engineering, will drive the standard for quality manufacturing excellence and a continuous improvement mindset. This role is a key member of the team that delivers AIR and is expected to: instill and drive a culture of quality mindset by shifting the enterprise operating model to a prevention-based quality management system. This leader will elevate, evolve, and drive manufacturing quality engineering best practices and standards while driving the optimization of risk-based methodology tools. The right person for this role will bring a deep expertise in quality management systems. You need to be solutions oriented, decisive and bring a hands-on approach to teaching and problem solving with a proven track record of understanding and leading effective execution of quality systems with sustainable reductions in CoPQ, customer returns and internal scrap.
- Experience – A minimum of 5 years experience in quality engineering, manufacturing quality, or equivalent with 3+ years leading quality engineers or technical quality teams
- Education - bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, quality, or related field
- Technical - strong command of quality management systems including but not limited to FMEA, control plans, quality auditing, CAPA
- Experience leading a team and creating, driving and communicating a strategy
- CMQ/OE (Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) or CMQ (Certified Quality Manager) credentials strongly preferred
- Experience in ISO 9001 required and experience in international standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 13485, or comparable environments strongly preferred
- Experience with ISO 17025 strongly preferred
- Six Sigma green belt certification required, black belt preferred
- Proven ability to work with associates of all levels including machine operators, supervisors, experts, engineers, technicians, and executives
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
The Manager of Quality Engineering at Air MI will lead a team responsible for driving the definition and execution of the quality system. This includes prevention, FMEA, control plans, in-station quality, and verification, responsible for shifting the narrative from reaction to prevention. This role leads people and practices at the site so global strategy from the Director becomes sustained line behavior.
You will partner closely with Process Engineering and Manufacturing Operations teams to deliver safe, scalable, data‑driven processes that enable Air MI to meet demand, reduce scrap, and operate as a unified global network. You will lead the Quality Engineering team responsible for product quality optimization. You get to:
- Lead and develop a high‑performing Quality Engineering team, driving technical excellence, talent growth, and disciplined engineering practices across extrusion and air sole manufacturing.
- Own quality process design, capability, and optimization, ensuring stable, robust processes that identify and mitigate risk.
- Oversee quality governance, ensuring quality management systems are adhered to while addressing any identified areas of continuous improvement.
- Ensure documentation creation and validation rigor, including control plans, DFMEA, PFEMA, in-station quality and audit protocols, and standard work in partnership with Air Standards
- Ownership mindset to drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes. Demonstrate AMS behaviors, leading Kaizen events, reducing scrap and waste through RCAs, and advancing data‑driven solutions across Air MI’s global manufacturing network.
- Optimize laboratory system operations, driving quality management system concepts and principles to ensure on-time testing, data testing integrity, and equipment reliability.

- You will drive clarity through task and project prioritization, creation or improvement of systems-based work, and address resource and operational challenges in alignment with the department strategy.
