WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This role will report to the SR. Tech Development Manager. You will partner closely with Product Design, Materials Design, Graphic Design, Technical Design, Product Management, Product Integrity and Product Creation Centers (Asia) on all aspects of Accessories creation to service athletes and the everyday consumer.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Materials Development Manager to join the Accessories team. In this role, you will be both a player and a coach, owning some complex product and managing a team of Material Developers. You will guide the Accessories creation process to ensure timely commercialization and best-in-class product. We are looking for someone with strong leadership and coaching abilities, a positive attitude, and a team-oriented mentality.
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Science, Accessories/Apparel Design, Product Development or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience or training
- A minimum of 6 years directly relevant work experience
- Knowledge of the Accessories development process from inception through production, including but not limited to construction, costing, manufacturing, print techniques, embroidery, materials and machinery.
- Ability to act as a materials technical resource, manage the team and lead initiatives through high energy and positive influence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to excel in a deadline driven environment and bring things to resolution.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with attention to detail and process orientation.
- Proven ability to drive strategy, lead, influence, and work across the organization.
- Experience managing a team is preferred.
- Knowledge of MS Office programs and confidence using Adobe Illustrator. Experience and working knowledge of CLO/Browzwear/Lotta or 3D apparel development software is a plus.
- Ability to travel 10% (domestic and international)
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As a Materials Development Manager, you will help execute the Accessories materials development portfolio to dimensional product strategies. You will also partner with cross functional counterparts to establish best practices and digital product creation process alignment. We want you to guide your team throughout the product creation process, lending your expertise while supervising progress and be a resource to your team. A typical day/week includes leading your team meetings and being a resource for your Developers, while managing your own project count. As a manager you will actively encourage diversity, professional growth, inclusion and collaboration within the team and the larger Accessories team.
- You will lead and influence calendar, manage overarching changes and exceptions.
- You will attend meetings with cross-functional partners and provide clear communication to guide the team through critical checkpoints.
- You will balance leading short-term target dates while supporting long-term strategy.
