WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will be working in Sports Marketing team, servicing sponsored Athletes, Clubs and Federations. You will be managing the Sports Marketing Operations Sport Performance team. You’ll be working closely with our Sports Marketing Directors responsible for the specific categories, EHQ and Global Sports Marketing, ELC teams (mainly distribution and transportation), accounts payable, vendor master data, country- and key city counterparts, as well as external partners. You’ll also be working with our SM Athlete Service and Experience teams to align on coordinated off-field service strategies in line with our own performance strategy.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of leadership, sports acumen, operational excellence, analytical skills and be a strong communicator to drive our organization's success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: The Operations Manager will manage and support a team, providing guidance on prioritization, workload management, and professional development. Strong leadership skills are essential to mentor, motivate, and develop team members.
- Operational Expertise: The candidate must have a deep understanding of operational workflows, including demand/supply match utilization, reporting, invoicing, vendor management, and logistics. They will oversee continuous improvement of operational processes and champion automation and simplification efforts.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities are necessary to maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners. The role involves acting as the primary escalation point for operational issues and aligning priorities with various stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: An analytical mindset with proficiency in ERP systems, reporting tools, and process automation is important. The individual will ensure timely delivery of key operational reports and identify trends or bottlenecks that require intervention.
- Compliance and Risk Management: The Operations Manager will monitor contract compliance, budget adherence, and invoicing accuracy to mitigate financial and operational risks. Coordination with legal, tax, and finance teams to address regulatory issues is also necessary.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: The ability to lead coordination efforts across multiple functions and regions to improve forecasting alignment, product setup, and supply chain responsiveness is important. Driving transparency and communication between global and regional teams is essential.
Preferred Skills:
- Extensive experience in the operational sport marketing industry
- Experience working with athlete-focused products and promotional merchandise.
- Familiarity with systems such as GameDay, Aravo, TheLocker, COUPA.
- Knowledge of international shipping logistics and multi-market coordination.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
In this role, you and the team will be responsible for servicing our individual contracted athletes, clubs, Federations and events for Track and Field, Basketball and Skate; as well as other sports outside Football.
- You and your team will be the go-to persons for our athlete’s performance needs, forecasting and planning the required orderbooks for contractual and seeding product allowance, event specific needs and overall performance product requirements for your asset portfolio. You’ll ensure product is bought, available and delivered on time while keeping inventory levels to a minimum and avoiding holds and hitting all relevant operational KPI’s. You will stay in close contact with your clubs and federations while working closely with our dimension leads, country managers and athlete’s agents, to maintain a superior service level towards all involved stakeholders.
- You will need to understand the seasonal dynamics in Sports Marketing, working towards key sport moments and events, and be a key communicator within your team to flag and mitigate risks concerning your orderbooks and upcoming events.
- You will work with our country and key city counterparts and support them in driving their local performance product launches & product servicing towards their local assets.
- With various digital databases and tools in place, you will also onboard new athletes and vendors as required and maintain their profiles to ensure completion and compliance. With contracted assets, you’ll also monitor and process invoices, making sure correct invoices are submitted and payments are made on time in accordance with our contractual obligations.
- You will ensure that endorsement invoices are paid on time.
