WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Manufacturing Engineer will be working closely with teams across the enterprise - Sourcing, Chemical Engineering, Product Engineering, Tooling Engineering and our Manufacturing Partners – and will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining the manufacturing systems, processes, and tools we rely on every day to deliver on our commitment to the athlete*. While our partners obsess the details, ME will drive the overall effectiveness of the manufacturing system that will deliver perfect quality, on-time and at cost to our consumers. He will drive operational excellence at the factory level. Will ensure standards are met and best practices are applied. Will be accountable for driving progress at the factories against our strategic initiatives. Will strive to enable world-class manufacturing systems to produce the world's best Nike & Converse products. Consistently. Efficiently. Sustainably
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree required in Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field, or combination of relevant education, experience and training.
- Available to travel to northeast partners at least 4 times a year
- A professional with at least 5 years’ experience in Footwear Industry (production site), with a strong foundation in Quality, Lean Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering.
- Hands-on expertise in implementing key manufacturing tools and methodologies, including FMEA, FTT, and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for optimizing manufacturing processes.
- Effective project leadership and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and deliver results in dynamic environments.
- Fluent Portuguese and English. Spanish is a plus.
- Comfortable engaging with both external partners and internal stakeholders and building strong partnerships; Ability to maintain focus through ambiguity and change.
- Capacity to implement global strategic initiatives and unlocking Manufacturing Partners’ capacity and performance

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As Manufacturing Engineer at Nike, you will have a very close engagement with our factory partners and work cross functionally with other areas in our Company (Brazil, USA and Asia). Your main goal will be ensuring our partners are meeting all Nike & Converse best practices and required quality standards thru Quality management tools.
- Implement standardized and consistent metrics at factory sites, review data, identify opportunities.
- Develop future-ready skills and competencies across partners.
- Support activation of advanced manufacturing capabilities.
- Work with factory and Nike Technical Team on commercialization stages (Extreme Size Trial, Full Size Run, bottom components approval, ramp up).
- Work with factory teams to identify opportunities for improved manufacturability during commercialization.
- Monitor manufacturing operations to identify gaps in Nike Manufacturing Best Practices.
- You will lead Sustainable initiatives in production site – such as VOC (Volatile Organic Compound), waste reduction.
