WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an innovative and curious Material Developer II – Compliance Labeling Care & Content to join our Material Supply Chain team, supporting Development of Care & Content Labels. The right candidate will use their knowledge of product make-up, construction trends, legal requirements, critical thinking and collaborative skills to deliver Care & Content assets and solutions. Strong skills leveraging knowledge of textiles, and/or product development, marketplace regulations, manufacturing, training skills will ensure delivery of exceptional product for our athletes*!
Understanding of materials engineering / textiles engineering and/or experience with consumer product construction (textile sciences studies, fashion studies, product manufacturing, product design, etc.) & product regulation.
Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively influence, gather information, and ensure accuracy with the ability to collaborate across teams and vendors, while successfully managing multiple priorities with competing resources & deadlines across multiple seasons.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Digital literacy, including Microsoft office software, Adobe, Smartsheet, Miro, Airtable and Product Data Management or PLM systems is desired
Bachelor's degree in Apparel, Textile Sciences, Chemistry, Business or a related field or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
Minimum 3+ years' relevant work experience in product labeling, materials development, sustainability labeling, traceability, or compliance
Ability to travel up to approximately 10% of the time
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will be responsible for creating, managing, and implementing accurate and compliant care and content labeling across all Nike Sports for Apparel and Headwear. This role ensures that product labels meet global regulatory standards, align with brand requirements, and support seamless execution across the supply chain.
Create the care and material content descriptions for use on product Bill of Materials (BOM’s), ensuring completeness and accuracy for the product care and content label.
Partner with Tier 1 and Tier 2 vendors to clarify label requirements and resolve execution challenges.
Coordinate internally with Nike’s Legal, Government & Public Affairs, and Product Integrity teams to ensure all products are labeled in compliance with applicable regional and global regulatory standards.
Support seasonal readiness by delivering labeling solutions aligned with product timelines and milestones.
Document and communicate labeling standards and processes to cross-functional partners for proper execution of materials and trims description and consumer product care and material content labeling.
Collaborate with colleagues in the materials team and technical operations (including PCX and the bill of materials program) to improve data solutions and procedures, supporting project plans and ensuring timely implementation of labeling changes.
Follow industry trends and grow expertise in fields of packaging, labeling (weaving, yarn construction, dyeing, security features) and care (e.g. printing regulations).
