WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The DC Planning Director leads in a critical capacity at the intersection of DC Operations, Logistics network functional teammates and Marketplace Supply Chain partners. The Planning Director reports directly into the Sr. Director of Network Operations, with dotted line accountability to the GM of Shelby Operations. They directly lead the Shelby planning organization of operations managers to DC athletes who execute all planning activities and accountabilities within the Shelby DC. They engage with and represent Shelby DC planning with all necessary Nike internal business partners and stakeholders including but not limited to DC Operations, MSC channel partners, IFP, PASE, Transportation, and Finance. They represent the Shelby DC within the Network Operations team to drive and lead the planning function with consistency at the NADC network level, working most closely with planning and DC Operations peers.

They are champions of change, protecting the stability of teams and processes while enabling and driving towards future results. This candidate must be a demonstrated expert at understanding and storytelling with data.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, economics, business, engineering, mathematics or other related fields. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
- 9+ years of supply chain or related experience, with emphasis on distribution, transportation or related operational functions with heavy emphasis on operations planning functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and strong interpersonal skills with preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly comprehend and decipher complex datasets, turning them into clear stories and visuals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
- Large team leadership experience in an operational setting.
- Proven experience in continuous improvement utilizing lean methodologies.
- Experience with automated process and workflow design and implementation.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As the Planning Director for Nike’s Shelby DC, an omni-channel, multi-category facility located in Memphis, you will contribute to Nike’s performance and Win Now strategy by leading and advising the Operations Planning Processes. Ensuring the alignment of DC processes and processing plans with Nike North America business goals and omni-channel consumer requirements. As a key member of the NA Network Operations leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering on the network planning team mission to drive consistent processes and ways of working to efficiently plan and execute with a network mindset.
In this role, you will:
- Own all facets of supply chain planning processes in the Shelby DC. Ensuring that short, medium and long-term plans and processes from capacity calculation to tactical wave execution and transportation management are established and operating in accordance with aligned service level and business goals.
- Lead the Shelby planning organization with an inclusive, engaged and high-performance team culture. Supporting and developing all teammates from Ops managers to DC Athlete teammates across all levels. Plan, prioritize, coordinate, and supervise team workload to achieve business goals.
- Serve as a strategic leader within the Shelby DC, informing and educating teammates across functions on where and how the DC impacts the overall NA Supply Chain network, and ensuring that Shelby processes are appropriately consistent and integrated into the E2E NA network ecosystem.
- Lead a positive relationship and facilitate effective communication between the Distribution Center and upstream business partners, including but not limited to Integrated Fulfilment Planning, Marketplace Supply Chain, NA Finance, Marketplace partner account logistics, sales and other key stakeholders.
- Think, operate and lead with an enterprise mindset. Understanding the role of the Shelby DC in the NA network and breaking down functional or DC silos where they exist.
- Use data-driven communication and decision-making to create alignment, transparency, and accountability.
