WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will be part of RIEE (Resilience Insights & Efficiency Engineering) Team – part of GT – RESE (Global Technology – Resilience and Enterprise Systems Engineering organization)

This position will be focused on AI Ops, and Agentic AI workflows, and work on projects that reduce tickets, save costs and make our workflows efficient.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer as part of our ITC Automation COE team at Nike. The ideal candidate will be a servant leader, bringing deep technical expertise in Automation to solve complex engineering problems to enable Nike’s pursuit to deliver state of the art Automation to run Nike’s business and support our athletes

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of modern technical concepts, a meticulous eye for detail, and a strong commitment to Value driven delivery. They should also be highly self-driven, exhibit exceptional communication skills, and work with a strong sense of urgency and integrity.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • 7 to 12 years of professional hands on experience in application engineering in Full Stack development using several open sources, modern programming languages like Java, JavaScript frameworks and libraries like React, Node, Python and Redux

  • Lead the development and deployment of Agentic AI models using LLM models, including data preparation, Data ingestion. Processing & Storage, Model Training (Supervised and Unsupervised Data), and model serving at Production grade and scale is a must

  • Experience in developing and API integration is a must

  • Working knowledge of AIOps and GenAI use cases is a must

  • Hands-on experience implementing and supporting modern software architectural principles, SOA principles and patterns (REST, domain-driven design, Devops, microservices, etc.)

  • Experience in cloud service platforme (AWS, GCP, or Azure ) is a must

  • Experience in  Python, Databricks, ML Flow, DS Pie, SQL, Fullstack development is must

  • Working knowledge of technologies like TensorFlow/PyTorch for deep learning models, Machine Learning, Kubernetes, Dockers, Git, PyCharm, SSL/TLS for secure communication etc

  • Well versed with Agile methodology and working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment

  • Understanding of Automation platforms (RPA, Pega, Power Platform etc) is a plus

  • ITIL Foundation Certified will be an advantage

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You'll play a key role in designing and delivering automation-driven solutions to streamline business processes and improve operational efficiency. You’ll work on well-defined problems, lead solution design, and drive execution end-to-end—with minimal supervision.

  • Collaborate with other platform teams and engineers to develop and deploy AI and ML models, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems

  • Develop and maintain DevOps processes and tools to ensure the smooth operation of AI and ML pipelines, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous monitoring

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers to design, develop, and deploy AIOPs models

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in GenAI, AIOps, AI and ML, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our organization

  • Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards for data privacy, security, and ethics

  • Contribute to innovation by facilitating brainstorming and crowdsourcing of new ideas

  • Participate in the technical development and delivery of front-end User Experiences as well as back-end development

  • Ensure quality of the code and products throughout the entire development lifecycle (DevOps) 

  • Ensure continuous improvement in performance, scalability, extensibility, reliability, usability, and availability of the platform

  • Leverage agile methodology concepts for quality, delivery and continuous improvement

  • Participate in sprint planning and other scrum ceremonies. Help team plan and execute sprint tickets

  • Monitoring and supporting health services in production

  • Working with your local team and other geographically dispersed engineering teams to provide technical expertise on development and architecture

  • Partner with product owner to understand requirements and define an MVP for features and agree upon timelines

  • Collaborating with other engineering teams and architecture to develop new features technical solutions that meet business needs and align with Nike’s architectural standards

  • Working with application privacy and security teams to ensure the application is properly architected and maintained

  • Guide and mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical discussions

  • Support in COE setup
