As Planning, we serve the Nike Operations function combining insights and analytics to sense and craft how much product consumers will want, where and when they’ll want it. This offense combines work in the Business Planning (BP) and Assortment Planning (AP) sub functions to support a more detailed and flexible approach to serve consumers and drive inventory efficiency for NIKE and our partners.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will closely interact with Nike Training & NikeSKIMS LT to ensure plans and directions are aligned long term, pre-season and in-season. You will also form positive relationships with the assortment planning team to support and guide them to make the right product and assortment decisions, keeping the consumer at the center of strategy. This role reports to Director, Planning Training / SKIMS, EMEA.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A Senior Business Planner to join the NIKE TRAINING & NIKE SKIMS EMEA Planning team!

This role will give you the opportunity to contribute to the strategy of the Sport and develop robust seasonal demand forecasts and long-range plans for the business. Your meaningful recommendations will allow you to help drive mid- and long-term Sport strategy.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the below criteria;

BUSINESS SKILLS

Planning

  • You have solid previous experience of full-time work experience (excluding internships), preferably in (retail merch) financial planning, and the ability to apply that knowledge independently in your work.

  • Demonstrated experience working with a P&L (aka business planning experience), a mastery of Excel and/or other planning tools/systems, and experience with retail KPIs are critical for this role.

  • You understand the importance and value of scenario planning.

  • You are able to collaborate optimally with up- & downstream functions and are aware of emerging trends in planning.

Critical Thinking

  • You demonstrate strong problem solving & critical thinking skills by developing proven plans that optimize trade-offs & outcomes.

  • You think beyond prescribed solutions, demonstrating industry & market trends to improve business outcomes.

  • You understand retail metrics & business drivers and can flexibly adapt scenarios based on continuous input from business partners.

Risk Management:

  • You can assess risks and opportunities that are grounded in facts, make impactful recommendations, and present options for resolution as well as risk within business objectives, taking a holistic business view.

Analytics:

  • You know how to use statistical forecasting, data science, and new ways of thinking to develop plans and drive better decisions.

  • You can expand existing Nike frameworks to perform analyses in a logical structure.

  • You have sufficient expertise in Excel or other data modeling applications (this is key to performing optimally in this role). What you do not yet know, you are able to learn and implement quickly.

Consumer focus:

  • You can ground yourself quickly in consumer needs & the marketplace from available internal and external data and are able to link your plans to market trends. You bring an awareness of Nike’s product portfolio and strategy, including expectations around consumer response, growth opportunities and product lifecycle

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Driving the insights that help build the Nike Training & NikeSKIMS Business Plan accordingly with consumer-right marketplace capacity and business strategy

  • Creating actionable recommendations across all genders and product engines – sharing plans with relevant stakeholders and marketplace/ND partners across Nike EMEA consumer code gates

  • Actively participating in the development and deployment of the Nike Training & NikeSKIMS multi-year strategy

  • Supporting the BP conversation with central BP (EBP) and other marketplace teams to drive consumer-right demand plans

  • Performing analysis to measure marketplace health, ensuring consumer demand for our Nike product is met and a pull market is maintained

  • Supporting the budgeting, business planning & x-functional forecast review processes with data-driven financial plans and analyses

  • Monitoring in-season business performance and delivering results vs. targeted objectives to drive sales, product margin and inventory health for gender, segments & dimensions

  • Driving clarity on results and variances to targeted expectations to key stakeholders and supporting both in-season and future-season decision-making

  • Assessing risks within business objectives and proactively escalating risks or opportunities that are grounded in facts, plus presenting options to mitigate these risks

  • Develop & practice best-in-class storytelling and communication (and provide clarity & visibility with our partners)
