Within our North America Brand Marketing organization our Brand Planning & Operations team plays a critical role in Nike’s North America Brand offense. The Brand Planning & Operations (BPO) team sits at the center of Nike’s North America Brand Marketing offense. We lead with strategic clarity, operational discipline, and cross-functional alignment to enable (and produce) brand-defining & functionally excellent work. When we do this we unlock a successful operating rhythm that connects to the enterprise, shapes our brands, and seamlessly guides the organization on what to do, when to do it, why it matters, and how to approach it.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Senior Director, Brand Planning & Operations (Strategy + Brand Management) plays a critical leadership role in Nike’s North America Brand offense. As a core member of the Brand Marketing Leadership Team (BMLT), this Senior Director partners with the VP of Brand Marketing and the BPO functional leader to drive strategic clarity, operational discipline, and cross-functional alignment across both Strategy and Brand Management Planning & Ops. They balance long-term frameworks with seasonal execution, enabling brand-defining, functionally excellent work that shows up on time, on strategy, and up to Brand standards.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

Strategic Planning & Alignment

  • Partner with the VP of Brand Marketing and Brand leadership team to deliver the seasonal Brand Planning Map, integrating Brand and Product Impact Concepts.

  • Ensure long-term planning (CSR, AOP) connects seamlessly with seasonal execution (Code, campaigns, and consumer journeys).

  • Provide thought partnership to Brand leadership on sequencing, prioritization, and trade-offs across sports, categories, and initiatives.

  • Shape how consumer insights and growth drivers are integrated into both long-range and seasonal brand strategies.

Enterprise Storytelling

  • Partner with the VP of Brand Marketing and BPO leader to craft compelling narratives that communicate Nike’s brand priorities, strategies, and results.

  • Lead the development of executive-ready materials for BMLT, NABMLT, BPOLT, MBRs, QBRs, and All-Team forums.

  • Highlight campaign successes, consumer impact, and operational progress through storytelling that inspires confidence across Nike leadership.

  • Ensure storytelling reflects both the strategic foresight and operational excellence of the Strategy and Brand Management P&O teams.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Oversee budget and resource allocation across Strategy and Brand Management P&O in partnership with Marketing Finance.

  • Anticipate and resolve resource trade-offs across sports and enterprise priorities.

  • Maintain transparency into resourcing and budget shifts across fiscal, seasonal, and quarterly milestones.

  • Provide the VP of Brand Marketing and BPO leader with clarity and foresight into resource needs.

Calendar & Process Integration & Optimization

  • Govern the seasonal planning calendar across Strategy and Brand Management P&O, ensuring milestone clarity and ownership.

  • Partner with Geo Brand Management Ops and Global Planning teams to integrate enterprise processes with local delivery.

  • Drive continuous improvement in tools, templates, and processes to increase flow and reduce rework.

  • Anticipate risks, recommend sequencing strategies, and protect both campaign delivery and team health.

Campaign Readiness & Milestone Management

  • Ensure campaign readiness and milestone health across Strategy and Brand Management P&O, using dashboards and tools that provide visibility across sports and enterprise priorities.

  • Partner with Brand Management leaders to assess readiness, surface risks, and recommend solutions.

  • Provide the VP of Brand Marketing and BMLT with holistic visibility into campaign delivery health, enabling leadership foresight and decision-making.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As a core member of the Brand Marketing Leadership Team (NABMLT), this role partners with the VP of Brand Marketing and the BPO functional leader to drive strategic clarity, operational discipline, and cross-functional alignment across both Strategy and Brand Management Planning & Ops. You’ll have deep relationships across the full Brand Marketing Leadership team along with close relationships with Global Marketing, Finance & Central Strategy teammates. Partner closely with Marketing Finance to ensure fiscal discipline, resource alignment, and clear financial storytelling for Brand Marketing. Collaborating with Core Strategy teams to ensure Nike’s brand planning frameworks align to enterprise priorities and consumer strategies. Acting as a bridge between Geo, Finance, and Core Strategy to drive clarity and flow across functions.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, brand planning, operations, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.

  • Senior leader with at least 15 years' deep experience in brand management, functional marketing, brand planning, operations, and strategy.

  • Passion for Nike Inc. Brands, Sport, Culture & the future of marketing within the industry.

  • Skilled at operating both as a functional leader and as an enterprise thought partner to senior executives.

  • Strong communicator and storyteller, able to craft compelling narratives for VP and SLT forums.

  • Excellent inter-personal skills with the abilities to be a strong team player and collaborator.

  • Proven leader of leaders, capable of guiding multiple teams and developing top talent.

  • Comfortable balancing long-term strategy with near-term execution, anticipating risks and surfacing solutions.

  • Passionate about sport and Nike’s mission to serve athletes.
