Who You Will Work With
As the Senior Merchant for Golf & Tennis in APLA, you will play a critical role in connecting the needs of athletes and consumers across Asia Pacific & Latin America with innovative, consumer‑right product solutions. You will be part of the APLA Brand Merch team, collaborating with Global Merchandising, APLA Territory Merchandising, and APLA Nike Direct Merchandising teams to ensure the Golf & Tennis offense is locally relevant, strategically aligned, and commercially strong across diverse markets.

Who We Are Looking For
We’re seeking a merchant with deep experience in merchandising and a strong understanding of the golf and tennis consumer, especially within APLA’s varied marketplace landscape. You bring a consumerist mindset, strong business acumen, and mastery of core merchandising skills including line planning, assortment building, and interpreting marketplace performance metrics.
You are a self‑starter who thrives working independently, yet knows how and when to pull in the right partners to drive alignment and accelerate outcomes. You can navigate complexity, build trust across teams, and influence without authority.

Nike merchants begin and end with the consumer. Our team blends art and science to identify market opportunities, craft product strategies, and deliver assortments that meet consumer needs across the globe. You should be able to see beyond trends, identify emerging opportunities, and help deliver the right product, at the right price, in the right place, at the right time.

What You Will Work On
In this Geo‑based role, you will drive the execution of the Golf & Tennis merchandising strategy across APLA. You will translate global direction into Geo‑specific line plans, channel strategies, and marketplace executions that reflect local consumer insights, competitive dynamics, and business needs.

A key part of this role is driving a holistic sport vision for Golf & Tennis across APLA. You will ensure that footwear and apparel work together seamlessly, that product stories ladder up to a unified sport narrative, and that assortments across channels reflect a cohesive, athlete‑centered point of view.

You will ensure APLA feedback is incorporated into Global seasonal planning moments and that APLA Territory Merchandising and APLA Nike Direct Merchandising teams are equipped with clear, consumer‑led assortments that drive marketplace distinction and growth.

In This Role You Will
  • Build and manage APLA‑specific line plans across footwear and apparel, ensuring consumer concepts are integrated and grounded in financial metrics.
  • Drive a holistic sport vision for Golf & Tennis by aligning footwear and apparel strategies, ensuring cohesive product stories, and delivering unified marketplace executions across APLA.
  • Collaborate with Global Merchandising to provide APLA insights, marketplace feedback, and seasonal needs at each key moment in the Code Calendar.
  • Lead end‑in‑mind planning to create marketplace distinction through seasonal channel offerings tailored to Territory opportunities.
  • Work with APLA Territory Merchandising and APLA Nike Direct Merchandising to ensure channel‑right assortments and consistent sport storytelling across wholesale and direct.
  • Lead and support the creation and maintenance of product journeys that excite and engage both new and existing Golf & Tennis consumers across APLA.
  • Manage franchise health autonomously, ensuring long‑term marketplace strength and balanced productivity across both footwear and apparel.
  • Elevate merchandising excellence through process improvements, operational enablement, and cross‑functional partnership.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with Planning and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment and execution.
  • Operate as a self‑starter, driving work forward independently while knowing when to engage partners to unlock progress and strengthen outcomes.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
  • 3–5 years of directly relevant experience in footwear, apparel, or equipment merchandising.
  • Strong understanding of retail KPIs and profit‑based metrics.
  • Effective communicator who collaborates well and brings people together.
  • High cultural awareness and ability to build positive relationships across diverse teams and markets.
  • Proven ability to balance art and science in decision‑making.
  • Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and proactively engage the right partners at the right moments.
  • Ability to communicate vision and purpose, and lead effectively in complex situations.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to act on limited information and anticipate future implications.
