WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You’ll hold a key position on the Footwear Color Development team. Reporting to the Director of Color Development and showing up as a leader within our broader Color and Materials Development teams. Your ability to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple disciplines and global locations will be essential. Key stakeholders include all Consumer x Fields of Play teams, Color Design, Materials Integrity, Apparel Materials, Chemical Engineering, Product Creation Operations, Supply Chain, Sustainable Product, Tech Product Management, Technical Development and Suppliers.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You’re relentless, curious, and passionate about creating and delivering exceptional color for our Athlete*. You have a proven track record of developing color for consumer products, across diverse materials such as textiles, leathers, synthetics, yarns, chems, and foams. You’re a team player who excels at building relationships and influencing cross functionally.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training

  • A minimum of 10 years directly relevant work experience

  • Experience Managing Color within the footwear or automotive industry, working within the Color and Materials Design, Science, Engineering industry

  • Expertise in color theory, chemistry, and physical/digital color technology and tools

  • Expert knowledge of product creation and manufacturing processes for consumer products and/or materials supply chains with a strong understanding of materials sustainability

  • Skilled in data analysis, leveraging data to inform color strategies, and measure impact

  • Demonstrated experiences developing and implementing new strategies, processes and tools

  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As a Principal Footwear Color Developer, you’ll support creation and operationalization of color processes and tools that are integrated within the product creation cycle, from brief to buy. You will act as the bridge between what we hope to deliver aesthetically and what comes to life, focusing on material color achievability, standards, process, and digital tools.

  • Support Director of Footwear Color Development in establishing and delivering on Color Development strategies

  • Develop foundational color excellence capabilities including color development processes, color standards, tolerances, tools, and education

  • Support digital color & speed through color optimized digital design tools and digitally accurate color

  • Create new information systems and tools to support digital color management

  • Serve as foams and chemicals color subject matter expert

  • Implement sustainable color solutions that align with Nike’s broader carbon-reduction goals

  • Mentor teammates, sharing expertise, providing guidance, and supporting team learning
