Nike's Advanced Innovation Collective (AIC) researches and develops the world's most innovative apparel and footwear product, seeking to disrupt the industry by always focusing on the athlete* and making them better. The Advanced Digital Creation Studio (ADCS) is an advanced product design and engineering studio. We seek to unleash what the human mind can't imagine by identifying and applying the world's most advanced product creation skills to bring in unimaginable ideas and develop them into the most innovative product. Our team has led ground-breaking products such as Flyprint and introduced industry-changing skills such as computational design, computational engineering and FEA.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The role of Principal, Computational Product Delivery will have strong business strategy, product and marketplace knowledge, strong understanding of advanced design and engineering skills and their benefits, and business delivery, decision-making and organizational skills. This role will have demonstrated experiences defining and delivering results. This role will be expected to understand ADCS' key skillsets now and in the future to drive clear, communicable product opportunities and impact. This role needs to understand how ADCS fits into the product creation ecosystem and works with AIC, Design and Product Creation partners which requires the role to have strong partnership, collaboration, interpersonal and communication skills. ADCS is an embedded product creation studio that partners with product creation organizations and plays a critical enabling function. With our partners, this role will be critical to help us deliver product from concept to commercialization--strong teamwork and collaboration skills are required. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training

  • 3+ years of demonstrated strategy and roadmap skills

  • Demonstrated extensive experience working with computational design and engineering teams and strong knowledge of how they work

  • 5+ years demonstrated strong experience collaborating and leading multi-functional teams

  • 5+ years working with an apparel and/or footwear product creation organization. Experience in product creation preferred.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously

  • Comprehensive verbal and written communication skills

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

ADCS leads with the key functions of design, engineering and process prototyping, led through a human-centered design process. The Principal, Computational Product Delivery will be the voice of product in ADCS, strategize and organize the body of work through the lens of product, lead ADCS-based product concepts and partner with product leaders to understand how best to leverage and commercialize products with new capabilities.

The Principal, Computational Product Delivery will collaborate to align products strategically from concept to commercialization, partner with product leaders across organizations, and partner across the ADCS leadership team to drive clear, definable product briefs, concepts and deliverables. This role will be critical in helping shape ADCS' next generation of disruptive product impact.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Partner with ADCS leadership to identify, define, prioritize and roadmap product opportunities leveraging advanced design and engineering skills

  • Understand ADCS skillsets and see the strategic opportunities and impact through a product-lens

  • Build and communicate product delivery and impact strategy and roadmap

  • Lead the product brief and concept process for ADCS-led product concepts

  • Partner, advise and collaborate across AIC, inclusive of Nike Sports Research Lab, Apparel and Footwear teams to ensure computationally-driven products are successfully delivered
