You will work across a wide range of Basketball and Kobe-focused teams partnering closely with functions such as strategy, finance, planning, product, merchandising, brand, sports marketing, athlete directors, marketplace and Nike Direct and the geography.

What we are looking for

You are passionate about sport and you are a consummate consumerist. Most importantly, you are an expert at identifying signals, anticipating opportunities & challenges, and ensuring Nike is staying ahead of the game in a rapidly changing consumer and retail landscape. You can be at times, both strategic and operationally minded and have a strong understanding of a wide range of analytics techniques. You will utilize strong project management and relationship building skills to drive impact and deliver analytic excellence into our day-to-day operating model. You will lead with curiosity and empathy, always seeking to elevate work on behalf of the broader Basketball and Sport Analytics teams, and ultimately, our consumers.

· Bachelor’s degree in Analytics or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.

· 8+ years’ experience working in an analytically driven field. Experience in product and/or retail KPIs preferred with a focus on consumer insights, business analytics, strategy or consulting.

· Demonstrated ability to partner on cross-functional teams supporting strategy across an organization, including stakeholder management.

· Ability to solve complex issues, including problem structuring and strategic problem-solving skills

· Compelling, high-impact data and insights storyteller with a track record for influencing stakeholders and delivering results

· Curiosity and ability to self-start

What will you work on

Our team is embedded under the Global Nike Basketball GM and alongside our key functional stakeholders in Basketball & Kobe. As part of the sport analytics team, you will shepherd insights and create holistic marketplace and consumer perspectives using the full rigor of our analytics methodologies. As a Sport Analytics Principal, you will be on the front lines to help Nike gain a broader and deeper understanding of our basketball business and athletes across the globe by transforming complex data across multiple sources into clear, actionable intelligence for the business, both independently and as part of cross-functional teams.

Key Accountabilities:

· Measuring and analyzing metrics relevant to consumers, product, merchandising, sales, marketing and planning in a sport-focused product company.

· Researching and understand the macro and competitive environment in partnership with the Macro & Competitive Analytics Team

· Generate novel connections, ideas, and frameworks that drive the business in this new formation and scale across the Sport Analytics team

· Proficient technical expertise, including understanding of coding languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) and usage of analytics tools (e.g., Databricks, Github, Snowflake, Tableau).

· Deliver storytelling & synthesis: Visualization of complex data-driven insights with business context to deliver relevant data-informed decision-making.

· Connect data across multiple sources and extrapolate insights

· Partner with and influence stakeholders to ensure work is connected to strategy and adds value

· Identify and adopt strategies and approaches that enable accurate analysis using Nike Inc's multi-disciplinary analytics best practices.

· Be a consumerist and a coach who fosters effective teamwork, manages conflict and values differences
