Who We Are Looking For:
The Strategy team shapes the future of Converse, protecting the brand, its financial health, and developing integrated strategies that keep the consumer at the center. As a Principal in Converse Strategy, you will explore complex business issues; conduct consumer, competitive and market analyses; create financial models and develop short-term and long-term action plans.
What You’ll Work On:
The Strategy Principal will support Converse’s Senior Leadership Team in the development of growth strategies that drive high-level priorities across key business units and markets. This role will specifically partner with our Global and Country-specific Growth teams to shape Converse’s commercial strategies. We write the strategic plans to ensure the right products are in the right channels and partners, and reach the right consumers at the right time.
- Direct & execute analysis and due diligence for new growth opportunities, leading to actionable recommendations
- Lead strategic projects leveraging sound hypotheses and rigorous frameworks, pushing beyond analytics & research to insight
- Catalyze the execution of actionable plans with senior leaders and their functional teams
- Align and lead senior teams through ambiguity in a complex organizational matrix, providing project management and chief-of-staff support to senior leaders and large teams
- Collaborate with various cross-functional teams throughout the business to prepare quarterly and annual business reviews, scorecards, and materials for strategic workshops
Who You’ll Work With:
The role sits in the Converse Strategy & Finance team, and reports to the Director of Marketplace & Geography Strategy. It will collaborate with Converse’s Senior Leadership Team, and work closely with Converse Growth (Direct to Consumer, Sales, Marketplace Partners, Account Management), Finance, Consumer Insights & Analytics, Enterprise Acceleration & Operations, and other cross-functional Nike, Inc. Strategy & Finance teams.
What You Bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Applied Science or a related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience or training.
- Professional Experience:
- 7+ years of proven experience in corporate strategy, consumer or marketplace strategy, management consulting, investment banking, corporate finance, corporate development, business development, and/or marketplace sales & management
- Experience in leading complex strategic projects and proven success in leading a methodical process of analyzing problems, gathering information, generating options, then proposing and acting on a course of action
- Strategic Mindset:
- A curious mind, growth mindset and future orientation
- Adept at developing rigorous strategic frameworks that becomes the foundation for analysis and planning
- Communications & Stakeholder Management:
- Proficiency in business communication tools and executive-level, verbal/written storytelling + communication to mobilize change
- Consistent track record of pulling together diverse individuals with different goals and facilitating productive discussions
- Superior interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Analytical Abilities:
- Data analysis and financial modeling
- Market analysis and competitive landscaping
- Quantitative & qualitative acumen
- Project Leadership:
- Bias towards action and comfortable working in ambiguity
- Ability to work through complexity & adversity
- Project management in a cross-functional, global matrix environment
- Technical Proficiency: Microsoft office suite (including Excel modeling), Keynote and Tableau
