WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The Release Manager partners across Nike’s Retail and Digital Commerce teams to deliver seamless change and release processes during peak events. You’ll collaborate with product, program, engineering, quality, support, and IT teams, reporting to leaders driving operational excellence and release strategy.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re seeking a Release Manager with strong experience in managing complex release frameworks for Retail and Digital Commerce platforms. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic, high-pressure environments, demonstrates exceptional communication skills, and brings expertise in Agile, CI/CD, and risk management. You have a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver operational readiness for critical launches.
Requirements:
Experience in Retail & Digital Commerce platforms
Experience with Mobile Play Store and Jamf
Proficient in JIRA for quarterly planning and daily work management
Familiarity with auditing and improving CI/CD pipelines
Demonstrated ability to operate in a global, federated organization with geographically dispersed teams
Strong understanding of Agile (Lean, SAFE), ITIL, and continuous delivery principles
Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex technical issues concisely to leadership
Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, Jenkins, GitHub, Splunk, IAAS, AWS
Ability to work in a dynamic, results-oriented matrixed environment and manage ambiguity
Strong relationship-building and influencing skills
Inquisitive mindset with a drive to learn and explore new solutions
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As a Release Manager, you’ll lead planning, coordination, and execution of release processes for Retail and Digital Commerce during critical peak periods. You’ll ensure operational readiness, stability, and continuous improvement while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
In this role, you will:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess technical feasibility and align implementation strategies
Manage all change activities from planning through testing, deployment, and validation
Develop risk management and contingency plans for peak events
Apply structured problem-solving to debug complex systems and identify root causes
Improve code and build release processes with a focus on operational stability
Define and publish key metrics to measure release effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
Partner with product, program, engineering, and IT teams to align on scope, cadence, and delivery requirements
Drive release scheduling decisions with business and IT stakeholders
Provide clear, consistent, and timely status reports to key stakeholders
Lead go/no-go meetings, checkpoints, and retrospectives
Participate in PI Planning and capability stand-ups for upcoming release scope
Identify and resolve systemic issues uncovered during retrospectives, focusing on tooling, automation, and process optimization
Drive CI/CD pipeline operational best practices
