WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

This role will report to the Director of Department Stores & Sales Agent Team within the Sales Department, which is NIKE's Wholesale business. This role will be in charge of Department Stores & Sales Agent accounts and work with cross-functional team members to propose appropriate products to the accounts and grow NIKE's wholesale business.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate for this role will have the ability to facilitate the Sales Agent strategy, with a particular focus on managing distributor relationships and expanding Nike's wholesale business.

They will demonstrate a high degree of curiosity and learning agility, excel in strategic account planning and project management, and communicate effectively with account teams and internal cross-functional partners.

This role collaborates to support and drive the consumer-focused strategies, develop marketing plans, manage and cultivate relationships with key partners who represent and authenticate our brand in the marketplace.

Additionally, the candidate will identify product opportunities, implement product strategies, stay current on product and product changes, and display strong customer service skills by developing and maintaining relationships with key customer stakeholders at all levels. This role also plays a critical part in elevating NIKE's wholesale retail and drives its evolution to align with company’s strategic vision and future growth.

  • Minimum 2 years of field sales management in the sports industry that includes field sales, retail buying, merchandising, sales business planning, or sales business analysis.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education.

  • Strong knowledge of the sports industry both from product knowledge and marketplace trends. Passion for sports.

  • Experience in successfully implementing various sales programs, policies, procedures, and methodologies and in utilizing financial decision making, models and translating results into business plans and accurate revenue forecasts.

  • Ability to prepare, plan and deliver clear and persuasive presentations.

  • Ability to think strategically and provides problem-solving solutions.

  • Domestic travel may be required to visit retail marketplace once per quarter.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (fluency in English and Japanese), with ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives. Able to influence both cross functionally and vertically within the organization.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As a Sales Representative, you will co-create sales plan for accounts with your team members and lead several sports categories under NIKE’s Sports Offense strategy:
 

  • Take future orders from your assigned accounts during Sell-In Sessions held four times a year.

  • Communicate NIKE's seasonal initiatives, while providing partners with the seasonal story, strategy, and product descriptions across multiple categories.

  • Proactively propose tailored solutions to our wholesale retailers to maximize sales.

  • Create, lead, and coordinate the execution of seasonal business plans to reflect better retail presentation to maximize our NIKE’s business.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, apply, and track the sales strategies and key product launches to achieve monthly and seasonal sales targets.  

  • Lead and manage the realistic and accurate scenario planning, forecasting, seasonal initiatives, business analysis, and identify new sales opportunities.

  • Understand, drive, and scale Retail Elevation across markets and find ways to leverage best in class examples across the team.

  • Partner with accounts to redefine their business and strategy, elevate the marketplace, and meet the needs of Japanese consumers.
