In alignment with the Nike brand, our North America Brand Planning & Operations Team strives to shape the brand through distinctive, emotive, and impactful stories & experiences that lead the future of sport. The Brand Creative Retail Planning/Ops role is part of the Brand Creative Retail Studio and works closely with Creative Planning & Operations to help identify and establish the seasonal project priorities upstream and in season. They will also work closely with the Sr. Retail Design Operations Manager and the Sr. Creative Director of Retail Storytelling Design.

As part of the North America Brand Marketing (NABM) organization, our team works cross-functionally to activate marketing programs that propel the brand and the business into the future. We enable this by creating the time and space required for the organizational brilliance through scalable approaches and aligned strategic process to support the full marketing organization, driving accountability in planning, timing, and finance. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a candidate with experience in the world of creative planning with specific expertise in retail – scoping and estimating project size and volume as well as supporting the team to handle creative staffing, capacity and bandwidth, with knowledge around retail design and production. An understanding of brand marketing initiatives and frameworks as well as the usage of tools like Airtable, Keynote, and Figma are critical skills in this role. Familiarity with the internal Nike matrix would be a bonus.  This candidate is a strategic problem-solver who knows how to collaborate with teams within the organization to find efficient and effective solutions. In this role, clear communication is key. It is critical to be curious, analytical, and have attention to detail as well as to drive a process that will result in decision-making when the priorities and processes are made clear. This person thinks holistically and is motivated to drive an effective and efficient process for the best results.   

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Up-front Seasonal project planning and scoping for all NA Brand Creative Retail project priorities: Support Sr. Retail Design Operations Manager and Brand Creative planning team to vet seasonal project requests and estimate project needs to ensure Retail Design has the accurate information to properly scope and resource each project. 
  • Conduit between Global, Geo and City workstreams:  Facilitate communication across Nike divisions to help establish clarity, consistency and efficiency across all Nike marketing platforms wherever possible. 
  • Collaboration with Retail Design & Retail Brand teams: To establish a successful process, partner collaboration is vital. This candidate successfully navigates relationships with day-to-day partners in brand & creative to understand the project details and expectations.
  • Establish relationships with brand & business partners: Support maintaining strong relationships and communication between NA & Global brand & business partners, with information escalated to leadership for decision-making.
  • Determine initial project scopes and timelines for seasonal project requests:  Establish realistic up-front schedules based on key project dates to help inform project kick off timing.
  • Seasonal Kick Off: Responsible for guiding the Brand Creative Planning team as an expert in Retail to align with other Retail Brand Planning teams and with NA leadership in a seasonal kick-off where creative priorities and resources are in alignment with the North America seasonal concept map.  
  • In-Season Scope Management: Responsible for flagging scope increase within the season and working back with the Creative Planning and Ops team and Sr. Retail Design Operations Manager to assess resources and feasibility.
  • Process Innovation: Responsible for identifying areas of operation opportunities for the seasonal production team and innovating new processes to streamline and create efficiencies.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will report to the Sr. Retail Design Operations Manager of Creative Planning & Operations, North America. You will work closely with all operational and production teams including Creative Planning and Ops, Retail & Partners, as well as NA & Global Retail Brand Creative teams and our Retail business partners. You will also work closely in your day-to-day role with the Sr. Creative Directors across NA Brand Creative Retail. You will partner with all teams in North America Retail Brand Marketing and in key cities to ensure that the improvements we deliver accelerate our ability to achieve our business goals.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience working within a creative, fast-paced, and complex marketing or creative production organization preferred.
  • Building trust and strong influential skills are preferred to lead planning and process discussions.
  • Ability to streamline and optimize complex processes.
  • Experience with tools such as Airtable, Keynote and Figma would be ideal. 
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify and problem solve situations in an efficient manner, including building and delivering presentations
  • Strong time management and project management skills, keep projects on track, raise awareness where issues may arise and bring solutions to the table, while keeping high attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills, commitment to support internal teams, and proven ability to manage expectations.
  • High level of motivation and energy, hard-working, driven, takes initiative and self-motivated with the ability to successfully deliver tangible results.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and competitive environment, with a diverse group of individuals and talents, collaboration skills a must.
  • Possesses an optimistic and enthusiastic attitude towards change, while remaining flexible and tolerant to ambiguity.
  • Proven track record of working highly-collaboratively and cross-functionally, investing in relationships across diverse brand, creative, business, and technical teams.
