Senior Design Manager - NIKE, Inc. - Beaverton, OR. Review all samples to achieve marketable solution review with design, marketing and development, including maintaining all color calendars/timelines/deadlines for a category/division resulting in the timely completion of each product; develop line art, color design server, GPIN, merchandising lines, cutting samples, and working with material consultant to coordinate materials for products; leverage advanced knowledge and practices in all phases of product execution; use advanced design skills to create original, innovative, retainable color solutions for a category or gender-specific line; research and deliver color, design, market and lifestyle trends that influence and impact the product category process from product briefing to product concept to samples; contribute to seasonal color strategy for products, line segments and initiatives; create a seasonal category-specific direction of color, materials and graphics; create color merchandising strategies and stories seasonally in partnership with the category and design director; display an in-depth understanding of consumer and brand-positioning needs as it relates to the category/division; apply insights from consumer perspective into color solutions; present and communicate category-specific color direction and color merchandising direction of the seasonal line to appropriate groups; work with the design category to produce presentation materials that effectively communicate color direction related to the consumer, product concepts and creative strategy to internal and external audiences; participate and deliver bi-annual category/divisional specific color needs for incorporation into footwear color committee preparation; work with color design management and expert designers to refine personal portfolio of design skills, experiences, and product/process knowledge; provide design support for the design team; and work with expert color designers and color design management to advance the value of color to NIKE by bringing a high level of functional expertise, such as materials, special effects, technology, advanced development, presentation, and tools, to the color design organization. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S., except from AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, RI, SD, VT, WV, and WY.
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, Material Design, or Textile Design and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a designer-related occupation.
