WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Nike's Global Brand Marketing department is looking for a seasoned Senior Digital Imaging Technician to join the team at its innovative ICON studio in Los Angeles, CA. This is a chance to join the team that creates product marketing and brand story telling content seen around the world for all of Nike Inc's brands. The successful candidate will bring exceptional demonstrated experience in high volume and fast paced imaging studio environments. They should have a passion for photography and video systems, deep understanding of on-set workflows and tools, and interest in influencing process development and improvement for cross-functional teams. We are looking for a creative problem solver with an acute attention to detail, a commitment to process improvement, and a comfort with troubleshooting technology issues on the fly.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
The Senior Digital Imaging Technician will act as a technical process leader for photo and video shoots in the Icon studios. You will be responsible for the successful application of capture standards and asset management hand off from production to postproduction among the freelance teams in the studio. This includes optimizing file management, ensuring accurate color management practices, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting freelance photographers, techs, DITs and DPs with advanced capture knowledge.
The senior digital tech will streamline processes, reduce production downtime and enhance overall throughput. They are expected to work independently, solve problems quickly, and support multiple teams across locations. You will also be expected to develop, document, maintain, and deploy best practices for all aspects of the digital capture workflow. This standardization will help onboard new freelance techs, serve as a reference for current techs, and ensure processes are synchronized across the global studio network.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will partner with leads in production, creative, studio operations, and the broader photography department to ensure our processes are optimized for premium quality at scale. Daily work consists of overseeing freelance digital techs on/off set, interacting with freelance photographers, art directors and dotted lining to motion DITs to successfully run daily production. Additionally, you will be expected to collaborate closely with Nike’s Tech teams to ensure workflows are able to work effectively and comply with security protocols.
WHAT YOU BRING
· Minimum of 5 Years of direct digital tech experience
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Photography or related field; or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training
· Expert level knowledge of Capture One and MacOS
· On-set experience as a Digital Tech in high volume studios and dynamic on-location shoots
· Experience using off-the-shelf DAMs and establishing file structure guidelines
· Experience with Canon mirrorless and Fuji medium format camera systems
· Working knowledge of RED video camera systems is a plus
· Broad knowledge of studio lighting & grip equipment
· Strong color management standards for capture and post
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Mac based scripting & automation solutions: bash, Applescript, Swift, Javascript
· Experience or willingness to learn: video management tools like DaVinci Resolve and Silverstack
· Enterprise IT desktop solutions and networks
· Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools
