WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
As a Senior Director in Strategy specializing in Product Innovation, you will partner with our senior leaders to design and execute long-term strategies to progress innovation strategies, prioritize innovation resources, and surface new innovations for adoption across Nike.
This is a unique role, blending “left-brain” and “right-brain” skills and interests, marrying business and strategic rigor, operations discipline plus an innovator’s know-no-boundaries creativity. It requires a flexible problem solver and outstanding communicator who is comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing different personalities and perspectives.
Reporting to the VP, Strategy, Consumer, Product, Innovation, and Merchandising; leading a talented team comprised of 2 Directors and 3 Leads. You will serve as a member of the Strategy Function extended leadership team.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The role will support different groups across our Advanced Innovation Team, working with designers, developers, engineers and innovators to create the future of product for Nike.
- 10+ years of proven experience in creative strategy, entrepreneurialism, management consulting, corporate strategy, corporate development, or business development. Or 9+ years of experience (2+ years’ experience post-graduation) with a master’s degree in business, entrepreneurialism, or creative strategy.
- A global innovative approach and a passion for innovation – a risk taker that embodies the Innovation approach and can think like an entrepreneur.
- Experience in leading creative and sophisticated strategic projects and proven success in leading a methodical process of analyzing problems, gathering information, generating options, then proposing and acting on a course of action.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, provide project management expertise, and to lead multiple projects at once.
- Experience leading and managing a portfolio of strategy work and team of strategists.
- Consistent track record of pulling together diverse individuals with different goals and facilitate productive discussions.
- Proficiency in business communication tools and verbal/written storytelling + communication to promote conceptual understanding and mobilize change through storytelling.
- Experience in innovation, product creation, or digital, and/or experience in consumer-facing industries.
- Bias towards action and comfortable working in ambiguous environments, and ability to work through macro and micro situations/complexity.
- Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Prior experience in innovation or product creation and a passion about products.
- Create white space for innovation and risk taking. A curious mind and future-orientation.
