WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The Senior Expert Merchant works with NSW x-functional teams and NA Channel Merchants to set Men’s AP and FW assortment strategies for Style Specialty & Department Store channels that drive revenue and market share growth. This position reports to the NA NSW Merchandising Senior Director.

They should deliver innovative product strategies and ideas to drive growth, and lead through partnership and collaboration to create end in mind. Key skills include analytical thinking, creativity, adaptability to change, strong merchandising and business acumen, effective communication, influence and cross-functional teamwork. Strong business acumen and proficiency in retail math and marketplace analytics is required, in addition to some knowledge of Style Specialty and Department Store channels and consumers to drive assortment development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business, Design or a related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in merchandising (Marketplace or Consumer/Sport), and/or retail, with leadership experience
- Expertise in footwear and apparel merchandising; proficiency in retail and profit-based metrics
- Open to work in Beaverton, Oregon
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will drive the product strategy and assortments for the Style Specialty and Department Store channels in the NA marketplace. You will create channel-tier specific assortments and closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate marketplace insights to inform the seasonal assortment segmentation and tiering strategy. You will share insights to inform NSW sport product merch partners to influence future product line plans. You will partner closely with NSW Channel Sales, NSW Sport Product Merchandising, and finance to ensure healthy inventory and alignment with channel growth strategies.
Core Responsibilities:
As the NA NSW Style Specialty and Department Store Channel Senior Expert Merchant, you will:
- Develop Style Specialty and Department Store channel-tier assortment offerings across Men’s NSW apparel and footwear.
- Define and drive multi-season strategic plans by channel to align with channel/marketplace growth, financial targets (MFP), and NA NSW CSR.
- Drive the NSW Style Specialty and Department Store product strategies and tiered assortment offering by collaborating closely with NSW Sales, Sport Merchants, Marketing, Nike Direct, and x-sport Channel Merch teams.
- Provide in-depth consumer and marketplace insights to represent the NA marketplace within the Style Specialty and Department Store channels and provide these insights to inform the NA NSW Sport Product Merchants on future line plans and assortment frameworks.
- Provide capacity and tiering insights to Geo Sport Product Merchandising teammates to inform product differentiation by channel.
- Define and build multi-season strategic plans by channel to align with sales and marketplace growth to meet and exceed financial targets.
- Manage franchise health within the channel through assortment and buy offers based on key metrics for healthy in-season and futures inventory positions.
- Responsible for monitoring franchise health within assigned channel(s) based on key metrics for healthy inventory positions (both in-season and futures).
- Consult with Sales and Sport Planning on invest/divest strategies and style-level forecasts to ensure alignment with strategy, financial targets, and KPIs.
- Funnel Market Trends and product opportunities through Sport Product Engine Merchandising to inform the creation of closer-to-market trends (GEL and T-100) and future season line plans.
