WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The Senior Expert Merchant partners with Nike Sports Wear cross-functional teams and North America (NA) Channel Merchants to define Men’s Apparel and Footwear assortment strategies for City Specialty and NBHD channels, driving revenue and market share growth. This role reports to the NA NSW Merchandising Senior Director.

They bring analytical rigor, creativity, and adaptability, paired with strong merchandising and business acumen. Effective communication, influence, and cross-functional collaboration are essential. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in retail math and marketplace analytics and possess deep knowledge of Nike’s City Specialty and Neighborhood (NBHD) channels to drive assortment development.
Requirements:
• Open to work in Beaverton, Oregon
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in merchandising (Marketplace or Consumer/Sport), and/or retail, with leadership experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business, Design or a related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
• Expertise in footwear and apparel merchandising; proficiency in retail and profit-based metrics
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will lead the strategy and creation of product assortments for City Specialty and NBHD channels across the NA marketplace. You will develop channel-tier specific assortments and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to integrate marketplace insights that shape seasonal segmentation and tiering strategies. You will share marketplace insights with NSW Sport Product Merch partners to influence future line plans. You will partner with NSW Channel Sales, NSW Sport Product Merchandising, and Finance teams to ensure healthy inventory positions and alignment with channel growth strategies.
Core Responsibilities:
• Develop City Specialty and NBHD channel-tier assortment offerings across Men’s NSW apparel and footwear.
• Define and drive multi-season strategic plans by channel that align with channel and marketplace growth, financial targets, and NA NSW CSR.
• Drive NSW City Specialty and NBHD product strategies and tiered assortment offerings by collaborating with NSW Sales, Sport Merchants, Marketing, Nike Direct, and cross-sport Channel Merch teams.
• Provide in-depth consumer and marketplace insights to represent the NA marketplace across City Specialty and NBHD channels and inform NA NSW Sport Product Merchants on future line plans.
• Provide capacity and tiering insights to Geo Sport Product Merchandising teams to enable product differentiation by channel.
• Build multi-season strategic plans to align with sales and marketplace growth and meet or exceed financial targets.
• Manage franchise health within the channel through strategic assortment and buy decisions grounded in key metrics for healthy in-season and futures inventory.
• Monitor franchise health across assigned channels using key metrics to maintain strong inventory positions.
• Collaborate with Sales and Sport Planning on invest/divest strategies and style-level forecasts to ensure alignment with strategy, financial goals, and KPIs.
• Funnel marketplace trends and product opportunities through Sport Product Engine Merchandising to shape closer-to-market insights and future season line plans.
