WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The ideal candidate will lead within the Nike Flyknit Engineering team in Vietnam, partnering with cross-functional teams in Product Creation, Manufacturing, Tooling, and Global Flyknit. The incumbent will report to the Flyknit Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with teams in Beaverton, Ningbo, and Shenzhou Group to drive strategic innovation, elevate technical standards, and mentor junior engineers.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineer with deep expertise in knit innovation and footwear engineering. This individual brings a strategic mindset, strong leadership, and a proven ability to drive complex development projects from concept to production. They thrive in dynamic environments, lead cross-functional collaboration, and elevate team capabilities through mentorship and technical guidance.
Minimum 5 years of experience in textile engineering, footwear development, or related fields.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced knowledge of knitting machines, yarns, textile structures, and knit programming.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers.
Willingness to be based in Ho Chi Minh City or other Nike Vietnam locations, depending on business needs.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
In this role, you will lead Flyknit engineering initiatives, translating advanced design concepts into scalable knit solutions. You’ll drive technical excellence, resolve complex knit challenges, and shape development strategies across multiple projects and teams. To that end, you’ll,
Lead the engineering of Flyknit uppers by translating complex design intent into optimised, machine-ready knit programs.
Drive innovation in knit structures to meet performance, durability, and manufacturability goals.
Provide strategic guidance and technical leadership across Design, Development, Manufacturing teams and Flyknit external partners.
Oversee knit development and validation, offering expert feedback to enhance manufacturability and scalability.
Resolve high-impact knit issues during development, commercialization, and production through root cause analysis and cross-functional coordination.
Analyse yarn behaviour and knit performance using lab testing, fit trials, and wear testing protocols.
Document and communicate technical findings, decisions, and best practices to global Flyknit teams.
Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering technical growth and knowledge sharing across Asia Flyknit teams and factory partners.
