WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Regional Sr. Transportation Analyst will be responsible for driving delivery precision improvement with a focus on improving on-time shipping and delivery performance for NIKE Retail stores and Wholesale customers within their respective regions! This role will improve shipment routing processes with customers and determine optimal freight terms in support of customer delivery. The Sr. Regional Transportation Analyst will assist customers with routing processes and maintain transportation compliance with customer requirements. This role will work to create and maintain dashboards via Tableau, Alteryx, etc. to troubleshoot delivery issues, partner to analyze data for identify root causes and drive practical resolution. This role will aggregate LSP’s performance data (late pick-ups/deliveries) from TMS and report to LSP Management to support LSP’s QBR/MBRs. This data will be used to inform Domestic Transportation business decisions as well. The Sr. Regional Transportation Analyst will partner with Freight Audit & Payment to develop continually improving financial metrics and detailed analyses by region.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
Responsible for on-time delivery, and LSP’s performance within their respective market.
Before Pick-Up: Work with Transportation OPS for LSP capacity (equipment) and/or LSP no-show / late; solve for pick-up exceptions.
After Pick-Up: Partner concern points for Uber Freight for in-market LSP issues (delivery or pick-up, line haul to pool distribution); solve for delivery exceptions. Develop analytics from business reporting tools/data to provide business insight and practical improvements in delivery issues, product flow challenges, product available to deliver (ATD), product cycle-time and other key transportation continuous improvement. Define delivery requirements for special delivery events (e.g., new store load-ins, seasonal door support, store remodels, special sporting events, miss-ships from DCs, LSP refusals/returns, and B&M store-to-store transfers). Proactively identify outbound transportation cost savings opportunities (e.g. routing of split shipments, air to ground opportunities, accessorial spend review) and raise to appropriate transportation partner. Serve as single, day-to-day point of contact for transportation operations for NIKE’s Retail Stores back-of-house (including ship-from-store LSP exceptions) to solve in partnership with the Last Mile -Digital Transportation Operations team). Meet with store operations Territory Manager team members (MSC) within their respective markets on a weekly basis to discuss LSP performance issues, upcoming projects, and new store openings; field day-to-day LSP requests to Uber Freight as appropriate. Serve as day-to-day point of contact for Uber Freight Front Line Employees (e.g. field questions, provide guidance). Track and monitor month-over-month transportation costs by carriers and by NIKE’s Retail store; provide data to Regional Transportation management to support budget management. Manage shipment optimization, LSP’s performance in respective region, tracking freight movements to NIKE’s Retail Stores and customer doors, and providing other daily operational execution relative to Inbound and Outbound shipments. Initiate, develop, and implement continuous improvement activities to improve operating metrics and performance, specifically related to cost, service, and compliance for domestic freight movement (e.g. route optimization, carrier selection). Aggregate carrier performance data, (late pick-ups/deliveries) from TMS and report to LSP Management to support carrier QBR/MBRs (Note: this data will be used to inform Domestic Transportation business decisions as well). Proactively communicate carrier pick up delays to customers (B&M, wholesale).
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
This role collaborates with management, internal/ external customers, Distribution Centers, and NIKE Marketplace Supply Chain (MSC) Managers to address scheduling, delivery and Logistics Service Providers (LSP's) issues with NIKE’s Retail stores and our customers that are brought up internally or through 3rd Party Transportation Provider. This role will interact with the Transportation OPS Team to provide day-to-day operations support for customer delivery activities and related communication among internal and external partners and LSP's. This role will negotiate rates and service details with 3PLs for urgent ad hoc delivery and storage requests. This role will interact with Omnichannel Transportation for strategy on consumer focusing initiatives and work closely with LSP Management on conduct business reviews to review performance based on service level agreements. This team will partner very closely with MPO’s Retail team to build flex capacity solutions to meet and exceed consumer and customer’s demand. This role will partner with MSC Operations, Strategic Capabilities, Direct Store Ops, and Location Planning to implement process and systemic improvements. The role will drive day-to-day acceptance and implementation of Transportation determined carriers and incumbent carrier delivery solutions. Lastly, individuals will be tasked to seek out, introduce and apply industry 'standard processes' with a focus on efficiency, functional capabilities and efficiency.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field (e.g., Supply chain Management, Transportation, Operations Management)
- 5+ years of experience in direct support of transportation/Transportation operations and planning in a Retail/Digital supply chain environment and use of project management tools and methodologies is required
- 2+ year Project Management experience preferred
- Proficiency with Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Database Management, Air Table, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with data automation and reporting tools (Alteryx, Tableau) to develop detailed analytics and reporting
- 5+ years progressively responsible experience in supporting customer delivery operations
- Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility for running the operation with a sense of urgency
- Experience working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative and team-based environment
- Experience driving performance through metrics and use data to drive continuous process improvement
- Experience being accountable for cost, quality, and service performance and for making decisions when trade-offs are required
- Ability to interpret carrier rates, contracts and tariffs and have experience in the use of distribution strategies such as cross-docking, retail pool and zone skipping
- Experience with operations and freight terms in key modes of outbound transportation such as small package, full truckload and LTL as well as experience in network design or transportation modeling using tools such as Uber Freight is preferred
