WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will partner closely with Product Design, Graphic Design, Product Management, Innovation, Wear Testing, and Product Integrity on all aspects of apparel creation to service athletes and the everyday consumer. This role will report to the Senior Director, Product Development Global Accessories

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Product Development to join the Nike Global Socks team. In this role, you will be both a player and a coach, owning highly complex or high-profile product whilst managing a team of Technical Designers/Developers. You will guide the apparel creation process to ensure timely commercialization and best-in-class product. We are looking for someone with strong leadership and coaching abilities, positive attitude and a team-oriented mentality.

  • Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Pattern Making, Textile Science, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, or training. 
  • A minimum of 8 years directly relevant work experience.
  • 10+ years' apparel development experience or relevant combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the apparel development process from concept through production is required. Experience with circular knit construction, machinery, bill of materials, yarn construction, and embellishments is highly desirable.
  • Ability to act as a technical resource, manage the team and lead initiatives through high energy and positive influence 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to excel in a deadline driven environment and bring things to resolution. 
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with attention to detail and process orientation.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and work across the organization. 
  • Experience managing a team is preferred.
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs and confident using PLM systems. Experience and working knowledge of 3D development software is a plus
  • Ability to travel 10% (domestic and international) 

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As a Senior Manager of Product Development, you will help execute global development strategy to dimensional strategies. You will also partner with cross functional counterparts to establish best practices and product creation process alignment. We want you to guide your team throughout the product creation process, lending your expertise while supervising progress and be a resource to your team. You will lead and influence calendar, manage overarching changes and exceptions. A typical day/week includes leading your team meetings and being a resource for your Technical Designers/Developers.

  • You will attend meetings with cross-functional partners and provide clear communication to guide the team through critical checkpoints. 
  • You will balance leading short-term target dates whilst supporting long-term strategy. 
  • You will actively encourage diversity, professional growth, inclusion and collaboration within the team and the larger apparel team.
