WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer is one of the keys to drive the FW Innovation Transition, Manufacturing and Product Excellence. We have established a unified Footwear Engineering Manufacturing team (FME) in the Footwear Supply Chain organization (FWSC). We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our office in Taichung City, to be part of a global organization dedicated to delivering excellence to our consumers every day.
As Senior, Manufacturing Process Engineering on the Footwear Manufacturing Engineering team, you will collaborate with a diverse team of engineering subject matter experts with various experience in a multitude of disciplines. Key partners are the teams within the Footwear Manufacturing Engineering team and collaborate with other Functions such as Product Innovation, Product Creation, Product Engineering, Sourcing, Responsible Supply Chain, and Cost Engineering in partnership with our Factory Partners, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Detail-oriented and results-driven, you will work at the country level across all partners located within and across countries and will strive to ensure connectivity with the local Partner Management office (PMO) teammates. You are comfortable engaging with different factory partners and internal teams, tailoring your messages accordingly and building strong partnerships. This role is perfect for a team-player with drive, curiosity, and strong communication skills.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON
You will contribute to Nike’s mission to produce the best footwear in the world by driving Innovation transition to the FW Manufacturing and Product Excellence, as well as delivering the sustainable growth that will fuel our future. Ensure alignment with global engineering strategies while delivering impactful solutions at the local level.
You will engage in factory partners innovation engineering solutions, project portfolio and modernization solutions. Drive innovation transition and manufacturing improvement through capability building and evolved factory manufacturing readiness assessment.
Your typical day/week will include ensuring you’re focused on and progressing against clearly defined weekly and seasonal priorities. You’ll drive an annual calendar of engagement with Factory Partners to deliver results against immediate needs as well as long-term priorities.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH
This role can be based on Taichung, and it reports into a Footwear Manufacturing Engineering Director. This role will work collaboratively with external Footwear Manufacturing Partners, across the full Footwear Supply Chain organization, and with other key stakeholders.
You will collaborate with Manufacturing Process Engineering teammates, Manufacturing Engineering, Factory partners and cross functional teams to drive Innovation transition, new tools and systems and forums, compliance with the functional best practices, in support of delivering product excellence and elevating product quality.
WHAT YOU BRING
Ideally bachelor’s degree (ideally) with a focus in Engineering, Business Management or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
6 + years relevant experience in one or more of the areas of Engineering, Manufacturing Process, Product Innovation, Product Development and Innovation Transition to Manufacturing, Lean, Automation.
Footwear experience is preferred; experience in related industries, as external parties such as Footwear manufacturing suppliers may also be considered.
Experience in applying knowledge of Manufacturing Operations – systems, processes, technologies, and materials required to consistently produce finished goods to a measurable standard – to identify opportunities and drive progress against goals is preferred.
Comfortable engaging with both external partners and internal stakeholders and building strong partnerships; Ability to maintain focus through ambiguity and change.
Strong English written and verbal communication skills; Project and time management skills; commitment to delivering results, on time; Proficient in standard MS Office programs, business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Ability to travel 10%.
