SR MERCHANDISE FINANCIAL PLANNER
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A Sr Merchandise Financial Planner (MFP) to join the NIKE DIGITAL (Formerly NDDC) MFP team to
- Create and manage NDDC merch financial plans in line with marketplace right capacity – specifically focusing on In-Season and Season +1 planning.
- Follow NDDC / ND (nike direct) strategy and GEO/CENTRAL MFP direction
- Ensure consumer demand for our Nike product is met and a pull market is maintained
The candidate will need to be able to work collaboratively and influence internal and external partners through Retail trends recommendations, with strong analytical skills who can communicate effectively in a variety of settings.
Analytics: leverages statistical forecasting, data science and new ways of thinking to develop plans and drive better decisions. Expands existing frameworks to do analysis in a logical structure. Expertise in Machine Learning, excel and other data modeling application. Python skills could be a plus.
Planning: experience in merch financial planning in (preferred digital) retail, ability to apply that knowledge independently in their work. Basic understanding of fin., Product and supply planning. Able to collaborate effectively with up- & downstream functions. Aware of emerging trends in planning.
Risk mgt: escalates risks or opportunities that are grounded in facts, presents options for resolution. Assess risk within business objectives
Insights: demonstrates strong problem solving & critical thinking skills by developing solid plans that optimize trade-off & outcomes. Thinks beyond prescribed solution, leverages industry & market trends to max. Business outcomes. Understands retail metrics & business drivers.
Consumer focus: understand consumer needs & marketplace from available data and is able to link plan with market trends. Awareness of product portfolio and strategy, including expectations around consumer response, growth opportunities and product lifecycle
Influence: designs compelling communications that articulate the story and insights with a clear summary of the main ideas. Listens actively & makes insightful contributions to multi year strategies as well as ongoing business decisions (strategic thinking)
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
Helping planning strategy and develop robust seasonal demand forecasts focusing on In-season optimization. If this is you, you’ll:
Define and manage NDDC merch financial plan in line with marketplace capacity and NDDC strategy
Leverage your analytical skills to create daily retail KPI-driven forecast, embed Machine Learning model output into your plan and build scenario planning capability – specifically focusing on key commercial moments.
Support the Weekly Trade conversation, focusing on analyzing the Lines of Business performance and identifying trends and R&Os.
Join MFP conversation with Finance and other cross-functional teams to drive inclusive demand plans
Support retail KPI usage into all planning deliverables, specifically focusing on supporting the Monthly Financial Planning process.
Advocate NDDC Strategy across the MFP community and ensure drivers and retail trends are properly conveyed.
Monitor business performance and deliver results vs. targeted objectives to drive sales and achieve inventory targets.
Communicate results and variances to targeted expectations to key stakeholders, including Sr Leaders.
Off-price – work within wider DSM (Demand Supply Management) to understand Close Out supply, achieve inventory targets and align against financial targets
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
As part of a team of 2 LEAD MFP and 3 Sr MFP Planners, you will work closely with the In-Season MFP LEAD to ensure plans and directions are echoed in the forecast and shared cross-functionally. You will also work closely with the FINANCE team to ensure that the demand assumptions are properly shared and echoed in the Financial P&L. Other key stakeholders are:
