WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The position of Senior Merchant, NDDC – India, will be located in Bangalore and reports directly to the Director of Merchandising, India. This role collaborates closely with the Merchandising teams in Geography (APLA), Territory (SEA&I) and in country (India), the Demand and Supply Planning teams, Marketplace (Sales) teams and Marketing teams in India.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Senior Merchant, NDDC to join our Merchandising team for India region. The ideal candidate will possess strong merchandising expertise, effective communication abilities, and business analytical skills. A passion for sports, combined with a self-motivated and innovative approach, is essential. Candidates should exhibit a collaborative mindset and value partnership. Proficiency in both verbal and written English communication, including meeting facilitation and presentations, is required. The successful candidate will instil trust, act with courage, demonstrate leadership during periods of change, foster diversity and teamwork within the group, and ensure clear accountability across team members.

They will have the opportunity to partner cross-functionally to execute the Sport led vision for their portfolio of partners and land that vision from adoption to sell-in. They will be empowered to make decisions with key stakeholders in order to hit the revenue targets as well as build an effective partner relationship to best serve the consumer.

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in Business or equivalent.

  • Minimum 10 years of directly relevant experience in the following functions: Merchandising, Category Management, Product and Assortment strategy and execution.

  • Strong Product Merchandising & Business Acumen with a passion for sports.

  • Ability to Understand Retail Math.

  • Good knowledge of Marketplace insights, assortment strategies, seasonal product trends specific to sport, streetwear and athleisure, current and evolving sport landscape.

  • Strong Negotiation, Presentation, Communication and Influencing Skills.

  • Strong Teamwork & accountability.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As our Senior Merchant – NDDC for India, your nature of work is focused on gaining consumer insights to enable Product and Assortment strategy and execution, Go to Market process, and product/franchise management. You will be responsible for management of multiple phases of the merchandising process.

To that end, you will,

  • Plan and execute the pre-season, in-season and post-season merchandising process by cascading the Sport Assortment Strategies to the NDDC/Digital partners and buyers.

  • Partner cross-functionally to build assortment frameworks ahead of each season based on consumer and business opportunities.

  • Adopt and edit India assortment to best serve needs of the Digital consumer landscape and partners through the lens of the Sport.

  • Build Assortment Sell-In tools to provide partners with critical product information.

  • Build, review and adjust Assortments to understand category, sport, gender, Silhouette Mix, Pricing Architecture and competitive landscape to best serve the consumer.

  • Partner with Geo and Territory Merchandising and Sport Teams on planning and execution of the seasonal strategies and feedback process on product and consumer.
