Senior Packaging Developer

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
One of the phenomenal things about this position is the opportunity to work with several cross-functional teams! This position will report into the Apparel Branding & Packaging Development Manager as part of the Global Packaging Team. This role requires experience developing and managing cross-functional relationships within Apparel including key collaborations with Innovation, Design, Product Merchandising, Development, Sustainability, Sourcing and Manufacturing teams as well as with counterparts on the Global Packaging Team.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an innovative and curious Senior Packaging Developer who will use their trims and packaging knowledge, critical thinking, and collaborative skills to deliver creative branding and packaging solutions at scale, ensuring they meet aesthetic, quality, and performance standards. This positional requires a strong understanding of trims and packaging development as well as an understanding of the product creation process.
- Bachelor's degree in Apparel, Textiles, or a related field or equivalent combination or education, experience or training.
- Minimum 3+ years' relevant work experience in trims, material, packaging, and/or product development.
- Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects across multiple seasons, while displaying strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the capability to assess trims and packaging performance, identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
- Proven experience in developing and executing trims and packaging strategies, with an understanding of trims and packaging design, development, materials, sourcing, and functionality.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Digital literacy, including Microsoft office software, Adobe, Smartsheet, Miro, and Tableau is preferred.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will partner with Product and Packaging Design teams, as well as with trims and packaging suppliers to define, develop, and deliver seasonal packaging structures with a focus on aesthetics, quality, and performance.
- Partner with the Product, Brand, and Sourcing teams to define and develop seasonal branding (trims) & packaging solutions.
- Collaborate with trims and packaging suppliers to develop and test different types of trims and packaging from inception to production to support Apparel product at retail. Examples of the types of packaging classifications you would be developing are product labeling, hangtags, information booklets, box structures, and stickers supporting different Apparel product classifications.
- Identify and mitigate risks of trims and packaging failures through development to commercialization.
- Create and maintain tools to effectively manage and communicate work effectively, including development trackers, item matrices and use guides.
- Obsess storytelling and data quality and share the “why” behind the work.
- Embrace ambiguity and simplify complexity.
