WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As the Senior Payroll Analyst, you will report to the Americas Payroll Director. This team drives accurate, compliant payroll operations across the region. You’ll partner closely with HR, Finance, Legal, Tax, HR Technology, and external vendors to develop and deliver seamless end to end processes that results in excellent employee experiences for our athletes and contributing to multi-country payroll execution.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a payroll professional who brings precision, ownership, and a drive to payroll processes with efficiency, accuracy and timeliness. This individual thrives in fast-paced environments where accuracy matters and deadlines are non-negotiable. You know Canadian payroll inside and out and understand how it connects to the broader employee experience.

You are a direct liaison for all Canada payroll issues, changes and enhancements, and will partner closely with cross functional teams and vendors.  You will also provide operational payroll support for other countries in the Americas region. The ideal candidate should be equally comfortable diving into complex payroll transactions and stepping back to identify opportunities for automation and improvement. With a sharp analytical mindset and a focus on outcomes, you will continuously elevate processes while ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • 3+ years of experience in Canadian payroll administration including Canadian payroll regulations and statutory requirements including timekeeping, vacation pay, leaves and terminations, and ROEs

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training

  • Payroll certifications (CPP, FPC, or Canadian Payroll Processional PCP/PLP) preferred

  • Experience working in multi-country or shared services payroll environments

  • Experience with payroll audits, reconciliations, and complex transactions (e.g., garnishments) 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) 

  • Experience working in Workday, UKG/Kronos, ADP Globalview & Smartcompliance

  • Accurate under pressure with strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

  • Highly organized, collaborative, and customer-focused in fast-paced environments

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You’ll own the end-to-end payroll experience for Canada while supporting broader Americas payroll operations. Your work will ensure every employee is paid accurately and on time while strengthening systems, processes, and partnerships behind the scenes.

  • Payroll operations and accuracy: Responsible for end-to-end payroll processing including off-cycle payments, time and attendance administration (holidays and leave of absence), garnishments, reconciliations, audits, and year-end filings, ensuring payroll funding and disbursement are timely and accurate using established controls across multiple systems (including Workday, UKG, ADP GlobalView and Smartcompliance).

  • Compliance and risk management: Ensures adherence to federal and provincial payroll regulations such as income tax, CPP, EI, and Workers’ Compensation, submits statutory obligations on time, and monitors vendor compliance while escalating risks proactively. Responsible for timely and accurate ROE submissions assisting with T4 reconciliation and RL-1 filings and maintains audit-ready documentation and support for internal/external audits.

  • Cross-functional collaboration and support: Partners with HR, Finance, Legal, Tax, and HR Technology teams, provides Tier 2 payroll support, acts as a key contact for payroll inquiries, and collaborates on system improvements and payroll projects.

  • Continuous improvement and technology use: Identifies automation opportunities to reduce manual work, supports process improvements, leverages Workday and payroll vendor platforms, and tracks payroll performance metrics to optimize operations.
