This individual excels at translating sports culture and consumer data into actionable business priorities, guiding complex initiatives from vision to execution in rapidly evolving environments. Strong communication skills and agility in managing change are essential to support business growth and partnership development.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON
As the Sport Marketplace Director (SMD) – you will be responsible for developing, applying and overseeing the commercial business activities across the dedicated category ownership. You are accountable for executing and analyzing category strategic plans, delivering growth targets, strengthening account relationships and marketplace distribution to drive revenue, inventory, margin, market share growth and bookings to target across wholesale partners, Nike.ca and Nike Direct channels.
• Seasonal readiness and planning: accountable for landing key seasonal concepts and stories that resonate with consumers and partners
• Sport Strategy: Build and execute sport business plans aligned to Canada & NA priorities.
• Go-to-Market: support the sales team in go-to-market process, key account sell-in, and partner engagements for critical success and to create an end in mind vision with our retail partners
• Marketplace Offense: Maximize opportunities across all consumer touchpoints (Nike.ca, Nike Direct, 3PW Partners).
• Account Partnerships: Lead joint business planning and growth strategies with key retail partners.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, supply chain, and finance to ensure integrated marketplace execution.
• Consumer Insights: Apply data-driven insights to anticipate trends, drive assortment strategy, and influence product flow.
• Allocation process: influence seasonal assortments and deliver account-level allocations that ensure alignment with product strategy, intent and financial targets
WHAT YOU BRING
• 5+ years’ work experience influencing Senior Management levels across both Partners and Internal leadership within Canada and GEO
• Deep experience across marketplace, sales, merchandising or commercial work within Nike or similarly consumer-led organization
• A leader who translates sport, consumer and data-driven insights into clear priorities and actions cross functionally within an organization
• Proven ability to grow businesses by connecting consumer insights, product storytelling, and strong partner execution
• Trusted communicator who shares a strong point of view around a sport-led offense and how product, brand and consumer connect across the marketplace
• Relationship building success in leading complex businesses with a balance of strategic vision and day-today execution
• Demonstrated success building retailer partnerships and unlocking growth through change, ambiguity, and transformation in a fast-paced marketplace
• Ability to travel up to 30% may be required
