WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a highly motivated and autonomous procurement professional who excels in building lasting internal stakeholder and external supplier business partnerships that optimize value. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a strong understanding of market trends and supplier management. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
You will partner with business stakeholders and leaders in Mexico and Latin America to understand key business needs and identify spend management and value opportunities to fuel Nike’s growth. You will serve as the primary representative of Procurement within the country and region. You will collaborate with USA-based Category Leaders and Sourcing Managers to develop a pipeline of supplier sourcing projects, supplier contract renewals and supplier negotiation opportunities. Your category scope of responsibility will span across all indirect products and services categories including transportation, logistics, technology, marketing, facilities and professional services. Your geographic scope will focus on Mexico and Latin America. Your work will include:
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs, identify spend management opportunities, and develop strategies to achieve cost savings.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and supply chain dynamics.
- Supplier Sourcing and Management: Identify, evaluate, select, and manage suppliers to ensure the best possible pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions.
- Cost Management: Develop and implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives to optimize processes and reduce expenses.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain to ensure continuity of service / supply.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
- Reporting and Analytics: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings to senior management.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will partner closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, supply chain, technology, legal, marketing, human resources and other teams, to identify and implement spend management and savings opportunities. You will also manage external suppliers to ensure the best possible outcomes for Nike in Mexico and Latin America. You will collaborate with your Procurement category management and sourcing teammates in the USA to jointly execute against priority spend management opportunities. You will be supported by the Global Senior Manager, Procurement Operations located at Nike’s headquarters in the USA.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
- 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, contracting, supplier management or equivalent
- Experience performing spend analysis, supplier & marketplace research, competitive bidding, negotiating and contracting
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, cross-culturally on global projects
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels of management
- Proficiency in English and Spanish languages required
- Strong project management
- Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of local regulatory standards
- Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) a plus
- Must be willing to travel up to 10%
