The annual base salary for this position ranges from $84,600.00 in our lowest geographic market to $167,100.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.

Senior Professional, Global Corporate Media Relations

 

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH


As a core member of the Global Corporate Communications team, you will report to the Senior Director of Global Corporate Media Relations, NIKE, Inc. The individual will collaborate with skilled communicators across the Communications functions for Nike, Jordan Brand and Converse to help advance our brand and business through impactful storytelling.


This role will focus on engaging media, influencers and content creators who speak to audiences interested in learning more about NIKE, Inc.’s business, growth, and innovation centered on sport and athletes.

 

Based at NIKE, Inc.’s New York City headquarters (NYHQ), s/he will partner closely with communications team members in North America, EMEA, APLA and Greater China, and will work collaboratively with global corporate communications, global executive communications, global employee communications, and global brand communications teammates.

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR


We are looking for a Senior Professional with experience in communications and media relations and possesses a deep understanding of and affinity for corporate media and storytelling.


The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and executing communications strategies and advancing stories that engage business and trade media, influencers and content creators, aligning to NIKE, Inc.’s strategy. S/he will demonstrate an ability to collaborate with diverse teams, think critically, and effectively manage multiple, often competing, priorities.


This role requires a leadership and enterprise first mindset, with the capacity to access and apply knowledge of consumer and media insights, trends, and intelligence related to business, culture, innovation, and sport. A genuine curiosity for media and content, a love for sport, and an appreciation for NIKE, Inc.’s place in sport and culture are critical. If you’re someone who scans business and sports news before your workday begins, this role is for you.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate agility, welcome change by finding creative solutions and achieve objectives even in situations of ambiguity. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, possess a growth and winning mindset, and be an enthusiastic team player eager to support NIKE Inc.’s broader business goals.

·       Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, experience or training.

·       5+ years of in-house brand communications, media relations, or PR agency experience, ideally within a global company preferred

·       Deep understanding of media and sports industry

·       Proven ability to craft and execute strategic communications plan with creativity and insight

·       Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationship with key stakeholders

·       Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)

·       Working knowledge of and familiarity with communications and media monitoring tools, like TV Eyes, MuckRack, Cision, Meltwater, etc.

·       Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team

·       Ability to Travel, 10-20%

You will be responsible for developing and executing long-term communications strategies and innovative storytelling tactics that build NIKE, Inc.’s image as the leader in sport. You will:

 

·       Develop and execute corporate media relations plans and engagement opportunities that create impact and push the boundaries of communications

·       Seek outside-world opportunities that take us to new spaces in corporate storytelling while maintaining our heritage and fueling our leadership in sport, innovation and culture

·       Be an architect of new approaches to engaging business media creators and influencers, as well as traditional business, corporate and trade media

·       Represent NIKE, Inc. externally to media

·       Develop a 365 storytelling and engagement approach to support business priorities

·       Build and drive influence with the right partners internally and externally

·       Keep up to date with emerging trends in media and consumer consumption

·       Navigate and manage issues as needed

·       Lead and execute key communication initiatives and events

·       Handle issues to safeguard company and brand reputation
