Senior Researcher - NIKE, Inc. - Beaverton, OR. Oversee the product creation process through a scientific lens from initial concept through to production; execute research on assigned models or prototypes to lead to on time delivery and development according to critical dates, product specification, performance and feasibility goals; conduct foundational research and development in sports science, which fuels and supports the overall research and development of new technologies and products; apply human movement science to the product creation process to invent novel, functionally superior products with the aid of biomechanics research and insights; conduct new, innovative human movement experiments using biomechanical and physiological hardware and software; process and analyze collected data and communicating the results to Project Leaders; invent novel experimental protocols to answer new research questions resulting in Nike proprietary information; understand ethical considerations and processes associated with conducting research on human subjects; calibrate and run technical equipment to ensure quality data; write custom data analysis software to analyze data in novel ways and interpret the results; and summarize and communicating newly uncovered research insights with technical writing. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S., except from AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, RI, SD, VT, WV, and WY. 

 

Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and the completion of a graduate-level/university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis or one (1) year of experience involving the following: 

  • Python 

  • MATLAB 

  • Nexus and Vicon 

  • Visual3D 

  • Metabolic collection devices such as Parvo or COSMED 

  • IMU sensors 

  • Electromyography sensors  

  • Signal processing 

  • Data analytics 

  • Creating and executing data processing pipelines 

  • Electronics
