Nike’s Air Manufacturing Innovation team is the company’s sole in-house manufacturing group, recognized for its exclusive expertise in Nike Air technology. In this role, you’ll collaborate across innovation, product, factory, and engineering teams to launch new Nike Air products, driving industry-leading performance and innovation standards.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To excel as a Senior Technical Developer, Air MI, a candidate must demonstrate a proven ability to lead complex projects from concept to execution, leveraging strong project management skills to deliver results on time and within scope and budget. Manufacturing experience is essential, as is the capacity to navigate and influence a diverse network of stakeholders—including cross-functional teams, factory partners, and engineering groups. Success in this role requires exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly articulate technical concepts, manage expectations, and drive alignment across teams. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, adapts quickly to change, and consistently seeks innovative solutions to technical challenges. A collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement are also critical for driving Nike’s standards of performance and innovation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or manufacturing or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience or training
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar technical or manufacturing field
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • PMP certification is a plus but not a requirement
  • Ability to travel internationally on occasion

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will lead new product development programs from initial brief through manufacturing, ensuring clear visibility of cost, schedule, and performance metrics for all stakeholders. You’ll drive cross-functional collaboration and accountability to deliver innovative Nike Air products on time, at scale and within budget.

  • Manage, execute, and track all phases of product development, including initiating development sample requests, evaluating product iterations, conducting manufacturing evaluations, and driving improvements in product sustainability and efficiency.
  • Maintain product portfolio reporting and data visualization for enterprise-wide communications and escalate critical issues to key stakeholders as needed.
  • Support product creation excellence through design, costing, and color/aesthetic process optimization and analytics.
  • Champion product innovation by ideating new aesthetic applications, managing product IP, and incorporating and validating sustainability opportunities.
  • Track programs against key functional KPIs and business targets to ensure alignment and accountability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize processes and deliver high-quality, innovative Nike Air products.
