This role is part of the Foundational Platform Engineering (FPE) and work with Autosys part of Data Integration team.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Software Engineer II, Autosys, FPE who excels in team environments and are excited about building cloud native platforms that can scale with the demand of our business. This role is part of Autosys, FPE aggressively innovates solutions to drive growth while creating and implementing tools that help make everything else in the company possible. The candidate needs to have a strong understanding of technical concepts, excellent attention to detail, data accuracy, and data analysis, strong verbal and written communication skills, and be self-motivated and operates with a high sense of urgency and a high level of integrity.
Required Skills & Traits:
3-5 years of experience in platform engineering or systems administration with a focus on job scheduling tools (Autosys, Control-M, Jobtrac).
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent job-related experience.
Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
Experience with Linux/Unix systems and Windows server administration.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), infrastructure as code (Terraform), and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
Solid understanding of database operations (SQL, Postgres) and RESTful APIs.
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with SAP job scheduling and plugin migrations.
Experience with major Autosys upgrades.
Exposure to enterprise-scale batch processing environments.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As a Software Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in shaping, modernizing, and scaling Nike’s Autosys platform while also driving innovation and automation within our ecosystem.
Platform Responsibilities:
Own and manage the Autosys Workload Automation platform, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
Design, implement, and maintain job scheduling logic, calendars, and dependencies across multiple environments (DEV, QA, PRE-PROD, PROD).
Support general platform upkeep including OS & Vulnerability patching
Collaborate with engineering & business teams on best practices and scheduling needs
Support disaster recovery planning and execution for Autosys workloads, including documentation and audit readiness.
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure platform scalability, performance, and security.
Participate in change-management processes, including stakeholder communication, risk assessment, and post-implementation validation
