WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Software Engineer II. The primary role on the team is to be hands-on, help deliver the next generation of procurement and invoice technology solutions while working to elevate engineering practices and team capability. This role will also help improve the technical aptitude of the team through pairing, code reviews, innovation time, and design discussions.

The candidate needs to have experience and an understanding of contemporary development, testing, and observability techniques and tools in a DevOps environment.  A learning mindset, excellent analytical skills, and strong written and verbal communication are essential. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

Your primary role on the team will be to guide our Finance Integration Services squad in navigating technical design and implementation strategies. You will innovate, deliver high-quality code, share best practices and make critical technical design choices. You will help coach the team to innovate, design, build, test, deploy and maintain sustainable technology. This is a hands-on role, writing code, doing peer reviews, and sharing other DevOps responsibilities, and understanding is essential.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As a TEAM we regularly interact with Finance and Technology partners globally. It is our responsibility to partner with program, product and engineering peers to ensure we are aligning appropriate technology outcomes with prioritized product initiatives. In addition to our team, it is essential to collaborate with other global engineering teams, business stakeholders, and technical peers to ensure the solutions we deliver are effective.

You will regularly work directly in our Finance Integration Services squad, providing mentorship, and helping with development of technical talent in alignment with Nike’s current technology standards. You will engage regularly with engineers from our diverse and collaborative DevOps squads to plan and deliver outcomes that meet global expectations for financial service, security, reliability, and performance.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor Degree or a combination of relevant education, training and experience
  • 3+ years of programming experience in Python, Java, Node.js
  • 3+ years of experience in building RESTful microservices
  • AWS experience: EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS, SQS, DynamoDB, S3, CLI
  • Tool familiarity: Jenkins, GitHub, IntelliJ, Jira
  • Demonstrated experience delivering microservice architecture at scale.
  • Deep understanding and practical application of modern build, continuous integration, and testing strategies
  • Working experience in integrating with SaaS and Open Source applications is a plus
  • Strong Agile practice experience with Scrum and DevOps
