This role is a key part of the Enterprise Architecture & Development Platforms team within Enterprise Platforms, where we drive transformative innovation to enable growth and build the essential tools that power our organisations success. As an engineer in our team, you will partner closely with our leadership, Product Managers, Solution Architects, Principal Engineers, and peers across Global Technology to manage priorities and drive alignment on technical decisions.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a Software Engineer specializing in full stack development activities platform building tools and technologies like front-end framework like React and Angular. Backend programming and API development skills using any one of the programming languages like Node.js, Java, Go, and Python. You are someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is excited by cutting-edge technology, and excels at problem-solving. You should be an excellent communicator, able to explain technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and operate with urgency and integrity.
Key Skills & Traits:
Programming Languages: Python, JavaScript, Java, HTML, CSS
Front-End Frameworks: React, Angular, Vue.js
Experience in API development using REST technologies in any one of the programming languages like Java, Go, Python, Node.js.
Databases: SQL, NoSQL
Cloud Platforms: AWS/Azure/GCP.
Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS, AKS).
Familiarity with build and deployment activities using any tools like Jenkins, Git, Argo CD, GitLab.
Monitoring & Logging: Prometheus, Grafana, and Open Telemetry.
Strong troubleshooting and performance optimisation skills
Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Ensure solutions are designed and developed using a scalable, highly resilient cloud native architecture
Ensure product and technical features are delivered to spec and on-time
Collaborate with and consult other Nike development teams, product and architecture teams
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will play a key role in shaping and delivering Nike’s next-generation platforms. As a Software Engineer, you’ll leverage your technical expertise to build resilient, scalable solutions, manage platform performance, and ensure high standards of code quality. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining high standards of operational excellence and driving automation.
Day-to-Day Activities:
Build and manage the Observability platform components.
Create custom UI components and packages for Grafana.
Develop Grafana dashboards.
Develop backend APIs for the observability platform.
Oversee and drive the observability platform operations and strategic initiatives.
Provide engineering support for observability platform build using open source technologies
Implement security best practices and compliance standards in AWS and platform.
Develop and maintain automation scripts for operational tasks
Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to scope and deliver new features
Collaborate with product managers to scope new features and capabilities.
Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
4+ years of experience in enterprise application development and support.

Familiarity with data governance, security features, and performance optimization.
