Who You'll Work With
You'll join the Nike Marketing Technology platforms engineering team driving Nike's global Digital Asset Management and content activation systems. The team works at the intersection of platform engineering, AI-driven workflows, and large-scale distributed systems, partnering with product, marketing, and global operations teams.
Who We Are Looking For
As a Software Engineer III, you are a strong technical contributor with ownership across services and platform components. You design and build scalable, resilient systems while guiding best practices in architecture, testing, and performance. You collaborate closely with product and engineering stakeholders, helping translate ambiguous business requirements into robust technical solutions. You play a key role in driving engineering quality through design reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and improving development practices. You are comfortable working in complex distributed systems and have hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures. You are also curious about emerging technologies such as GenAI and actively explore how they can enhance platform capabilities and developer productivity. In addition to the requirements described above, successful candidates will exhibit the following:
5–7 years of experience building scalable distributed systems
Strong expertise in Java/Spring Boot and microservices architecture
Experience designing APIs and working with event-driven systems
Proficiency in React and modern frontend development
Hands-on experience with AWS/cloud-native services and DevOps practices
What You'll Work On
You will lead the development of key platform capabilities enabling scalable, AI-driven Digital Asset Management and content planning across global markets.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing and developing scalable platform services for Digital Asset Management
Driving architecture decisions and contributing to system design reviews
Improving non-functional aspects like performance, observability, and reliability
Leading code reviews and mentoring junior engineers
Collaborating across teams to enable seamless platform integrations
Driving adoption of modern engineering practices including AI-assisted development
Troubleshooting production issues and ensuring operational excellence
