The Visual Merchandising (VM) function is responsible for developing and implementing inspiring, premium and elevated consumer experiences and presentations for Nike stores. The VM team works collaboratively across brand and business partners to develop product journeys, presentation strategies, styling direction as well as playbooks & training modules that create a distinct point of view for the brand at retail. Additionally, the VM Team works directly with business, operations and design functions to develop, drive and scale new concepts / retail expansion for the Nike brand across the marketplace. The VM team’s success is amplified by a connected network of world class talent across WHQ, geographies, territories & key cities.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a curious, driven and hard-working visual merchandiser who is a creative problem solver, thrives in ambiguity, and understands the role visual merchandising plays in developing and implementing the consumer journey at retail. This candidate supports defined strategy, partners across teams, and can execute solutions to identified problems.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
This role is responsible for executing product merchandising capabilities within our retail concepts – delivering consumer first, industry leading experiences. You will focus on resetting foundational excellence in our existing stores, and support future renovations and fleet expansion. You will work cross-functionally to bring product stories to life and achieve scale in Nike owned doors.
You will understand the art and science of visual merchandising; obsessing the business, consumer insights and leveraging this knowledge to deliver engaging product journeys and storytelling in retail stores as directed.
You will partner with Geo and Territory visual merchandising teams to set VM strategies that deliver the vision for product presentation, communication and consumer experience in North America. You will also work closely with the Lead – VMS – Cross Concepts to execute the product storytelling vision and experiences in stores.
You will serve as a key functional partner in the execution of the NA retail elevation & expansion plans.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
This role reports directly to the Senior Director, Visual Merchandising North America but is expected to build and sustain strong and collaborative working relationships with Geo, and City Retail Brand, Store Design, Business, and Field Leadership in order to elevate the consumer experience and achieve business objectives. You will also work closely with Geo & Territory VMS functions to ensure a strong flow of communication and create an open dialogue to understand team needs and relevant marketplace and competitive trends.
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
2+ years of direct experience in retail marketing, visual merchandising, product merchandising, or directly related experience.
Possess a clear passion for the art and science of visual merchandising.
Passionate about teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Ability to set presentation solutions for various retail environments that inspire the consumer, drive sales, and align with the Nike Brand voice.
Knowledge of the current retail landscape and the latest trends and innovations for retail.
A track record of implementing a test and learn offense.
Experience supporting projects in collaboration with cross functional teams.
