WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As the Senior Merchant for Global Basketball, you’ll drive growth in our Basketball Apparel business. Reporting to the Global Merchandising Director of Basketball Apparel, you’ll partner closely with Basketball Product teams, Geography Merchants, Nike Direct, and cross-functional teams including Brand and Demand Planning. This team is dynamic, inclusive, and consumer-focused—committed to collaboration and excellence in line planning and assortment building.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong retail and merchandising acumen, and works independently while staying solution-oriented. They excel at influencing and communicating across a large, matrixed organization and bring curiosity and adaptability to every challenge.

Key Qualifications:

  • Open to work at PHK (Nike World Headquarters) in Portland, Oregon, Metro Area
  • 2+ years of experience in Retail, Merchandising, Product Management, Marketplace, Buying, or relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or a combination of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of consumer and marketplace dynamics
  • Proficiency in analyzing business and consumer trends
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with experience driving new projects or concepts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to cross-functional partners
  • Team-first mentality

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You’ll deliver consumer-focused, profitable assortments through a strategic and intentional line plan to serve the One of One, drive growth, and gain market share. Your work will shape the future of Basketball Apparel through strategic planning and operational excellence.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Curate Brand distinction with assortments that make big ideas bigger. Built through Classic / Modern / Future ecosystems
  • Declare key franchises and flow product to keep the market fresh and enable our supply chain. Clear expression of priority franchises DNA, Standard Issue, Future, and Graphic Tee classification
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive roadmap across the full product lifecycle (3-5 years)
  • Tie product journeys to moments, maximizing their impact to the consumer. Head-to-toe intentional Apparel integration in footwear, grounded in key class: tee/short/fleece
  • Partner with the Global and Geo Sport and cross functional team to identify, nurture and drive the Brand and Business critical franchises and collections
