WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The ideal candidate works onsite in Beaverton within Nike’s Air Manufacturing Innovation environment, leading an eight-person technical training team. They report to the Sr. Global Manager of Technical Training & Development and partner with Operations leaders to build workforce capability and close skill gaps.

The ideal candidate has experience leading technical training in a 24x7 lean manufacturing environment, with a strong record of building practical learning systems that improve capability, quality, and performance. They are a respected people leader who provides clear direction, coaches effectively, and partners well with Operations to close workforce skill gaps. They bring curiosity, a growth mindset, and a bias for simplifying work—using Lean thinking, industry best practices, and AI-enabled tools to make training efficient and effective.
Specific experience, traits, and skills:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
Minimum 3 years of related experience
- Respected people leader who gives clear direction, communicates well, and supports a 24x7 training team.
- Experience planning training schedules, shift coverage, and qualification plans for production ramps and launches.
- Strong compliance focus across safety, equipment certifications, training requirements, and standard work.
- Lean manufacturing experience and a strong network for best-practice learning and problem-solving.
- Curiosity for innovation, including using AI to simplify work and improve how training content is developed and deployed.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You’ll lead technical training activation for Air MI by developing trainers, aligning coverage to production demand, and ensuring consistent delivery of Nike/AMS standard work. You’ll use Lean thinking and AI-enabled tools to simplify content, improve deployment, and strengthen OJT quality.
- Lead and coach a technical training team with clear direction, feedback, and support across a 24x7 environment.
- Align trainer coverage, schedules, and qualification plans to support ramps, launches, and changing business needs.
- Ensure consistent delivery of Nike/AMS standard work through classroom and OJT audits, evaluations, and coaching.
- Drive compliance with safety expectations, equipment certifications, and training completion requirements.
- Partner with Operations leaders to identify skill gaps and build practical learning solutions that improve performance.
- Improve curricula and training practices using Lean thinking, AI-enabled simplification, and industry best practices.
- Track outcomes such as engagement, attendance, attrition, training completion, OEE, safety, efficiency, PPLH, and labor variance to improve training impact.
- Identify and scale lean best practices across Air MI.
