WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The Technical Developer II will work alongside other Technical Development counterparts and with Design, Product Management, PCC partners, Materials, Color, and Product Integrity teams.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for an outstanding Technical Developer with expertise in softgoods and hardgoods construction (Socks, Bags, Headwear). Experience with textiles, finishings, embellishment, trims, hardware, foams, rubber, casings and graphic applications are desired to be part of our development team within Nike Global Accessories.
The ideal candidate needs to be highly collaborative, a creative problem solver, versatile, and forward thinking with an entrepreneurial mindset. A key part of this role is understanding the full scope of product creation from design concept to production; building tech packs, driving collaboration to meet on-time delivery dates, offering technical recommendations that elevate craft & quality to serve our athletes and consumers. Excellent communication skills in a fast-paced environment are a must have, non-negotiable.

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (apparel/footwear technical design/development, industrial design, or mechanical design). Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience or training.
- A minimum of 3-5 years directly relevant work experience in hardgoods/softgoods product development experience with an eye towards craft and quality.
- Strong experience using various 3D software (CLO, Solidworks, ProE etc…)
- Strong experience using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Strong knowledge of the Accessories product development process from inception through production, including construction, costing, manufacturing, deboss, print techniques, embroidery, materials, and machinery.
- Ability to write product specs and advanced construction instructions along with interpreting design intent and offering alternative solutions when appropriate.
- Ability to act as a technical resource and lead initiatives through high energy and positive influence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to excel in a deadline driven environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects across accessory classifications seasonally.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with attention to detail and process orientation.
- Proficiency with MS Office programs and confident using Adobe Illustrator and CAD Pattern Design software. Experience with CLO/Optitex/Browzwear/VStitcher/Lotta a plus.
- Experience working with factories and vendors to ensure and improve manufacturability.
- Ability to travel 10% (domestic and international).
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
The Technical Developer II will work on assorted accessories products and styles to create and update tech packs using digital and 3D Software (Adobe, CLO, Solidworks, ProE, etc…), collaborating with our cross-functional and factory partners to communicate design intent, materials, construction sketches and graphic placements.
- You will track and request prototypes, manage and meet calendar target dates, attend meetings that relate to their product’s development and communicate progress and challenges to their team and leadership as needed.
- You will lead proto review sessions with cross-functional partners, collecting feedback and capturing comments that will lead to an on time confirmable buy-ready product.
