As part of the Greater China Express Lane team, you’ll be at the forefront of Nike’s most responsive and consumer-connected product creation engine—delivering fast, relevant, and trend-forward solutions that resonate deeply with athletes* and consumers across the region.

What You’ll Work On

As the Expert Designer, Greater China Express Lane Footwear, you will lead the creative vision and execution of industry-defining footwear design for the Greater China Express Lane business. Based in Shanghai, you will be at the forefront of Nike’s most agile and consumer-connected product creation engine, delivering culturally resonant, trend-right, and athlete-informed footwear for the Greater China marketplace.

You will partner closely with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Development, Merchandising, Marketing, and Consumer Insights, as well as Color, Material, and Graphic Design experts across both Footwear and Apparel. You will also collaborate with global and geo design counterparts to ensure alignment with Nike’s broader creative direction while championing the unique voice of the Greater China consumer.

As an Expert Designer, you will be expected to lead with vision, mentor other designers, and elevate the creative bar across the team. You will be a catalyst for innovation, a connector of ideas, and a champion of design excellence.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Leading the design and execution of seasonal and fast-turn Express Lane footwear collections for Greater China, from concept through final product.
- Translating consumer insights, cultural trends, and athlete needs into powerful design narratives and product solutions.
- Creating original and trend-forward footwear designs that reflect the unique style, sport, and cultural codes of the Greater China consumer.
- Driving the development of color, material, and graphic design strategies in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Mentoring and inspiring junior designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Presenting design concepts and seasonal direction to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Collaborating with global and geo design teams to ensure creative alignment and share best practices.
- Partnering with Development to ensure design intent is maintained through prototyping and production.
- Contributing to strategic initiatives that shape the future of Express Lane and Nike’s design culture in Greater China.
- Staying ahead of emerging design, fashion, and cultural trends, and bringing fresh, relevant ideas to the table.
- Championing sustainability and innovation in design, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Who We Are Looking For

We’re looking for an Expert Designer, Greater China Express Lane Footwear, with a deep understanding of the Greater China consumer, a passion for sport and culture, and a proven ability to lead and inspire through design. You are a visionary creative who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and brings a unique point of view to every project. You are energized by the opportunity to shape Nike’s most responsive product engine and deliver meaningful, trend-right solutions that resonate with athletes and consumers across Greater China.

You are a strong communicator, a strategic thinker, and a hands-on designer who can move fluidly between concept and execution. You are a mentor and a leader, capable of elevating the work of those around you while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of experience designing and developing innovative footwear products and expressions.
- Deep knowledge of footwear construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of the Greater China consumer, culture, and market trends.
- Ability to translate consumer insights into compelling design narratives and product solutions.
- Exceptional rendering, and visualization skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; experience with 3D and AI design tools is a plus.
- Strong storytelling and presentation skills; ability to communicate ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Experience mentoring and guiding other designers; a collaborative and inclusive leadership style.
- Passion for innovation, sustainability, and pushing creative boundaries.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Fluent in English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
