Nike Energy is the offense to bring the Nike brand to new places and spaces with the best of Nike products. In this role, you will be a pioneer for the brand – shaping new marketplace strategies that will drive a halo effect for the brand and other sports.
As energy SMD, you will be part of a squad that plays at a fast pace. Your day to day will vary – from working with global to shape future Nike energy retail concepts and future season marketplace strategies; to going deep into current seasons to understand how products are connecting with consumers and partnering with sales to make the right calls. Strong strategic thinking and communication skills (both English and Chinese) are a must. Knowledge of Greater China street and fashion culture and the retail players that play in this space is a foundation need.
Greater China market travel will be part of the mix as well as the potential for global travel to work closely with Nike global energy and other Geo energy teams.
The GC energy SMD role is critical in shaping how Nike energy shows up in the world’s most dynamic marketplace – China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Do you have what it takes?
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
Lead Energy x Marketplace Integration
- Marketplace connection and representation on GC Energy Squad LT
- Owns energy marketplace segmentation & differentiation. Influences account positioning (in partnership with Sales/ND)
- Share marketplace insights and updates back to Geo Energy squads
- Completes channel-specific analysis and makes recommendations to inform & influence energy strategy and seasonal priorities
Drive Commercial Results for Energy
- Co-develops and drives Nike energy strategy across Marketplace, partnering with Geo Energy GM, Sports LT & Sales/ND
- Informs & influences channel-based energy growth outlook and seasonal/annual targets, partnering with Sales and ND, Geo Energy GM, Finance, Planning
- Own sport forecasts and plans, channel-based performance and retail moments.
- Supports seasonal sell-in strategies; contributes to GTM planning and execution in support for Energy
- Drives commercial alignment to deliver seasonal target, incl. Nike Direct
- Interfaces with relevant accounts in key GTM moments
- Informs Sport allocations by channels and account
- Provides x-functional leadership to drive a profitable pull market model
- Supports in-season management by pulling levers to adjustment execution plan
Shape the Future Marketplace for Energy
- Influences ongoing marketplace elevation and development for Energy, working with ND and Sales
- Shapes future vision of GC Sport Marketplace in partnership with Geo Energy GM and Marketplace (Nike Direct and Sales)
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will partner cross-functionally with Geo Energy GM and teams across Marketplace (Nike Direct and Sales), Finance, Planning, and Merchandising to drive marketplace strategy, commercial performance, and sustainable growth in close collaboration with GC Sport leadership team.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Knowledge and experiences in both Nike Direct (NDDC and Stores) and Account management
- Familiarity with sneaker and style culture, including GC retailers who play in these spaces
- Ability to analyze and synthesize consumer and marketplace data to drive action across teams
- Strategic Thinking – ability to develop long term strategy of an integrated marketplace
- Influence skill and adaptability in Fast-paced and Dynamic Environments
- Product acumen
- Ability to connect dots across teams, while rolling up their sleeves to bring ideas to life
