WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

This role report directly to the General Manager, India also based in Bengaluru and will be part of the Nike India Leadership Team. You will be part of a diverse India Leadership team tasked with laying the foundations for the next phase of growth for Nike India.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Nike India is seeking a Principal, India Strategy & Business Development, based in Bengaluru. This role requires a seasoned strategic leader with a proven track record of shaping, influencing, and executing enterprise‑wide strategies in complex, matrixed organisations. The ideal candidate brings deep domain expertise, leverages industry best practices, and applies strong business judgment to drive sustainable outcomes & very strong project management skills. They combine ambition with a positive, growth‑oriented mindset and demonstrate a genuine passion for sport and fashion. This role will play a critical part in designing and scaling innovative business models, translating strategy into execution, and laying the foundation for long‑term, accelerated growth across the India marketplace.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Strategy or a related field.

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant strategy, business development or management consultancy experience, ideally managing rapid-growth, consumer-facing digital and/or retail businesses

  • Expertise and a strong vision on the future of retail experiences, with a focus on commerce and the interaction across physical and digital channels

  • Proven cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.

  • Very strong understanding of the retail landscape & various business models in India

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

In this role, you will develop and translate business strategy into a clear business model for the India marketplace. You will set goals that can have far reaching impact on the evolution of the business and will lay the foundations for retail growth in India.

  • Demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and adapt in a highly diverse, fast‑changing environment while operating as a strong, collaborative team player.

  • Effectively manage complex issues and drive stakeholder alignment across India, South East Asia & India, Asia Pacific Latin America, and the global Nike organisation

  • Provide strategic planning, research, and advisory support to senior leadership across various functions.

  • Drive rigorous analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of short‑ and long‑term business strategies and key market initiatives.
